Job description

Position Title: Intervener 
Primary Location: Elementary
Assignment Specifications: August 3rd - August 14th: Monday through Friday, 8:45am to 12:15pm
Group Affiliation/Policy: Educational Assistants
Classification: B-2-2
Exempt Status: Non-Exempt
Pay Range: $19.70 - $27.57
Responsibilities: An intervener is a trained staff member who works one-on-one with a student who experiences the complex challenges of both vision and hearing loss to provide critical connections to other people and the environment. The intervener opens channels of communications between the child and others, provides access to information, and facilitates opportunities for learning and development.
Qualifications: A minimum of High School level academic skills. Must have demonstrated skills or experience in supervising student behavior and applying consistent consequences for appropriate and inappropriate behaviors, including appropriate physical restraint; adapting lesson plans to the individual needs of students to facilitate their learning and to assist them in meeting any individual learning plans and objectives applying rules, instructions, and stated policies, procedures, and IEP plans; developing rapport with children and explaining concepts in a simple and understandable manner.
