Job description

The Case Erector Operator is responsible for operating multiple case erectors simultaneously and operate Pro Print equipment as needed.Schedule: Monday - Saturday from 3:45 pm to 1:30 amJob Function Statements Essential Functions:Responsible for troubleshooting basic mechanical issues on equipment assigned. Must perform maintenance on assigned machines such as filling glue pots, lubricating carriers, and cleaning carton dust off the machines, and aligning belts and print heads. Will be responsible for ensuring that the machines are operating properly at all times. This includes, but is not limited to correct setup, feed rate, glue placement and platen or belt adjustment as necessary. Working conditions include a cold atmosphere (30-34 degrees) wet surfaces and moderate to high noise levels. Accurately complete all required safety, production, maintenance, etc. documentation as required. Keep work area organized. Assist maintenance and Case Erector Operator A's on repairs as necessary.Able to make boxes manually when necessary, including stretch wrapping pallets as needed. Employees may infrequently be assigned to perform other tasks on a temporary basis." During the temporary assignment, the employee must still maintain compliance with all plant policies but will not be disciplined for productivity- throughput performance."Responsible for actively supporting the other members of the employee's work team including assisting with cross-training, new-hire/buddy assignments, and process support during breaks, meal periods, and other staff coverage as needed.Required Qualifications/Skills: Must have a good understanding of basic math such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages and simple formulas. Must be able to extend arms up to 36 inches in order to make machine adjustments. Required lifting of 15 to 65 pounds. Move, lift, carry, pull, and push cases from one area to another area. Stand, walk, twist, bend, and repetitive motion for 8 hours a day or more. Be able to go up and down stairs or step on and off platforms multiple times during the shift. Must be able to follow all safety guidelines and LOTO procedures as trained by Maintenance Dept.Must have ability to effectively complete job-defined documentation accurately and neatly.Must pass a math aptitude test and must pass the required strength physical examination. Must be able to stand for the duration of the shift (8 hours or more), perform repetitive motions throughout the shift such as push/pull/lift, bend continuously through the shift, lift up to 65 pounds, and be able to climb stairs or step up onto a platform several times throughout the shift.Must be able to work 6 consecutive days, overtime and weekends if necessary.Must be able to follow oral and written instruction.Working conditions include a cold atmosphere (30-34 degrees) wet surfaces and moderate to high noise levels. Other Information:The statements herein are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by employees, and are not to be construed, as an exhaustive list of responsibilities, duties and skills required of personnel so classified.
