Work EnvironmentLogistics, customs, international trade complianceSupply chain management, customs, vendor relations
Required CredentialsTrade compliance knowledge, international business understandingTrade regulations familiarity, supply chain skills

Exporting involves sending goods abroad, while importing focuses on bringing goods into a country. Understanding these differences helps businesses optimize their international trade strategies and compliance efforts.

How do I get into exporting?

To start a career in exporting, gain knowledge of international trade regulations, customs procedures, and logistics. Developing skills in foreign languages, negotiation, and using export management software can be beneficial. Obtaining relevant certifications or training in international trade can also improve job prospects.

How much do exporters make?

Exporters' earnings vary based on experience, industry, and location, but they typically earn between $40,000 and $80,000 annually.
