Job description

TechOp Solutions is seeking a Senior Professional with outstanding communication skills (oral and written), strong analytical and writing capabilities, and deep subject matter expertise to support a high-profile federal compliance program. The ideal candidate will bring proven leadership experience, a strong working knowledge of export regulations (e.g., ITAR, EAR, OFAC), They will be a critical thinker and proactive problem-solver who thrives in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment, demonstrating the ability to lead projects independently while also contributing effectively as part of a collaborative team.

  • Serve as the subject matter expert for a team of analysts conducting export compliance reviews under ITAR, EAR, OFAC, and related federal regulations.
  • Export Control SME is expected to have extensive knowledge and experience in hard sciences with a broad ability to extrapolate their expertise from one science field to another.
  • Experience with the ITAR and/or EAR is required; at a minimum the position requires the ability to understand technical parameters of items/technologies contained in the ITARโ€™s USML and the EARโ€™s ECCNS and provide recommendations to the government as to whether and how they would be export controlled.
  • Initiates, supervises, and/or develops requirements from a projectโ€™s inception to conclusion for complex to extremely complex programs.
  • Provides strategic advice, technical guidance and expertise to program and project staff.
  • Provides detailed analysis, evaluation and recommendations for improvements, optimization development, and/or maintenance efforts for client-specific or mission critical challenges/issues;
  • Consults with client to define need or problem supervises studies and leads surveys to collect and analyze data to provide advice and recommend solutions.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience managing export control requirements.
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree (advanced degree strongly preferred).
  • Excellent reading comprehension, writing and communication skills that include the ability to effectively communicate with personnel of various backgrounds.
  • Strong understanding of export control regulations and export classification processes; experience with CFIUS-related matters is preferred.
