Job description

Position Overview

We are seeking a U.S. Export Control Specialist to support trade compliance activities within our Supply Chain and Procurement function. This role will focus on export/import licensing, regulatory compliance, and coordination across internal teams to ensure compliance with U.S. and international trade regulations in a highly regulated environment. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for trade compliance and export licensing activities
  • Prepare and submit export and import license applications through applicable U.S. government systems (e.g., Department of State and Department of Commerce platforms)
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. export control regulations, including frameworks such as ITAR and EAR
  • Classify components, products, and technical data in accordance with applicable export control classifications (e.g., ECCNs)
  • Partner with Procurement, Supply Chain, and Logistics teams to identify and support both short-term and long-term export/import licensing requirements
  • Assist in the development and execution of export/import licensing strategies
  • Support internal compliance controls to ensure alignment with U.S. and international regulatory requirements
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external partners to maintain ongoing compliance with export regulations
  • Maintain documentation and records related to licensing activities and regulatory compliance 

Qualifications 

Education: Bachelor's degree required (Supply Chain, International Trade, Business, or related field preferred) 

Experience:

A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in export compliance, trade compliance, or a related field 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of U.S. export control regulations, including ITAR and EAR
  • Experience with export licensing processes and government submission systems (e.g., DECCS, SNAP-R or similar)
  • Familiarity with component classification systems, including ECCNs
  • Experience supporting supply chain, procurement, or logistics functions in a regulated environment
  • Exposure to global trade operations and cross-border compliance requirements 

Soft Skills:

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams
  • Proven ability to collaborate in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail to ensure the accuracy of compliance documentation and regulatory filings
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills 

Technology Stack:

  • Government licensing systems (e.g., DECCS, SNAP-R or similar platforms)
  • Export compliance and trade management systems
  • ERP systems (e.g., SAP or similar)
  • Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Descartes Visual Compliance 

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work in a standard office environment and use a computer for extended periods
  • Ability to review detailed documentation and manage compliance records
