Position Summary

The Director of Sourcing is responsible for developing and executing a strategic sourcing and procurement strategy to optimize supplier partnerships, reduce total cost, mitigate supply chain risk, and support business growth. This role leads procurement activities for raw materials, components, equipment, machinery, and supplies while establishing disciplined processes for supplier management, contracts, and strategic sourcing initiatives.

Working cross-functionally with Operations, Engineering, Quality, and Finance, the Director of Sourcing ensures supplier performance, material availability, competitive pricing, and continuous improvement to maximize value for Lake Air Products.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop the sourcing and procurement team to execute strategic category and supplier management initiatives that support business objectives.
  • Develop and implement sourcing strategies that optimize total cost of ownership while ensuring quality, delivery, and supply continuity across multiple manufacturing locations.
  • Develop sourcing standards, contract management practices, and Request for Proposal (RFP) processes to ensure consistency, compliance, and value creation.
  • Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Customer Service, Estimating, and other cross-functional teams to align sourcing strategies with operational and customer requirements.
  • Analyze market trends, supplier performance, and business data to provide strategic purchasing guidance and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Develop, monitor, and report key sourcing and supplier performance metrics (KPIs) to drive operational excellence and informed decision-making.
  • Review and negotiate supplier contracts, purchase agreements, and strategic purchasing decisions within established authority and budget guidelines.
  • Resolve supplier quality, delivery, and service issues by collaborating with suppliers and internal stakeholders to implement corrective actions.
Qualifications
  • 10+ years of procurement or strategic sourcing experience in a manufacturing environment required.
  • Previous leadership experience managing sourcing, procurement, or supply chain professionals. Strong understanding of strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management, contract negotiations, and category management.
  • Proven ability to analyze financial data, budgets, cost drivers, and procurement metrics to support business decisions.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence stakeholders across all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent communication, coaching, and team leadership skills.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
