What You'll Do

As a Class A CDL Driver and Laborer, you will operate Dyno Nobel trucks and specialty equipment to deliver commercial explosives products to customers in a safe, timely, and efficient manner. Duties will include:

  • Assist in the operation and maintenance of our local SME (Site Mixed Emulsion) plant facility; duties include, preparation and quality control management of chemical solutions, loading and un-loading of SME trucks.
  • Load and unload all trucks, and maintain magazines, sites and inventories
  • Drive/operate a range of delivery vehicles over public roads in order to move or deliver explosive products to company or customer sites in a timely and safe manner
  • Driving duties will frequently extend off of public roads to include mine locations/roads, quarries, FSRs, off-road field locations and other such potentially difficult terrain.
  • Drive and operate bulk/SME truck in order to prepare and deliver quality explosive products to customer sites
  • Troubleshoot and perform minor repairs or maintenance while in the field
  • Deliver and off load product within Dyno Nobel H&S Management System procedures and practices
  • Calibrate equipment, calculate fuel percentages and check emulsion density
  • Follow all safety procedures and maintain safe working conditions in the shop, while driving and operating equipment and while on blast sites in order to protect personal safety and safety of others
  • Prepare and maintain all records and reports concerning the handling and transportation of explosive products, including safety, and the use and detonation of explosives, in order to ensure accurate billing, regulatory compliance and performance history 
  • From time to time, working from our sister site at Rathdrum, ID and/or Oakland, OR, on an ad hoc basis, as required by the site supervisor.

What We're Looking For:

  • CDL Class A with Air Brakes, tanker, and hazmat endorsements required
  • 12+ months of mechanical, commercial driving, explosives or related work experience
  • Must be willing to undergo and pass an ATF background check as required to be a possessor of explosives
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English, and to communicate in writing and verbally
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Must be able to move items weighing up to 60lbs repetitively over the course of a working day
  • Must be able to work Monday - Friday early morning start times (anywhere from 8 to 14 hours daily)
  • Positive attitude, friendly demeanor, and a team player
