Job description

Buckley Powder Co. is seeking hard‑working, safety‑focused, and dedicated full‑time Class A CDL Hazmat Drivers with a clean MVR. We offer excellent pay, full benefits, year‑round work, and strong long‑term career opportunities in a specialized industry.


Position Overview

As a Truck Operator, you will:

  • Handle and transport packaged explosive products
  • Load and drive company trucks
  • Operate pumping units on job sites
  • Assist blasters with loading and stemming blast holes
  • Perform routine truck maintenance and keep units clean
  • Work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Lift and carry 50+ lbs regularly
  • Frequently squat, bend, and perform physical tasks related to blast preparation

With time and experience, advancement opportunities include Lead Blaster training and other leadership roles.


Essential Functions

Preferred (will train the right candidate):

  • Valid Class A or B CDL with Hazmat, Tanker, and Air Brake endorsements
  • Ability to meet all State and Federal explosive regulations and qualify as an ATF explosive possessor
  • Clean MVR and background check
  • Ability to pass a drug test
  • Reliable, customer‑oriented, and safety‑driven
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, and regulations
  • Mechanical skills (preferred)
  • MSHA training or blasting license (preferred)


Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with all federal and state laws, regulations, and safety standards
  • Safely operate assigned equipment
  • Maintain, refuel, and wash vehicles
  • Load and unload trucks while maintaining accurate inventory
  • Work effectively with a crew on customer sites
  • Report vehicle defects, accidents, incidents, or damage before and after routes


Compensation

$25.00 – $30.00 per hour, depending on experience Safety bonus and yearly bonus opportunities available
