What we need

Symboticis seeking aSenior ProjectManager,Manufacturing (Structures),whoisresponsibleformanufacturing and third-partner activities at our contract manufacturers forautonomous robots, automatedcellsand engineered structures. AsaPrincipalProjectManager,you will leadexecution according to our schedule for production ramp and customer installation.The ideal candidate mustbe able to understand andidentifychallenges and make proactive decisions afteranticipatingcontractual requirements and cross-functional impact. The successful candidate should have a strong operational, quality,complianceand technical background, with proven project management and supplier management abilities. The candidate will be requested to travel to our partner sites for potentially frequent and / or extended periods of time with a requirement to occasionally travel elsewhere as needed.

This position is a hybrid role based remotely in Detroit. Selected candidates willbe requiredto work onsite for a minimum of two days per week.

The External Manufacturing team sits within the Quality organization and partners cross-functionally with internal teams and vendor manufacturers to ensureSymbotic'sautomated solutions meet and exceed quality, functional, and reliability standards by designing and implementing manufacturing strategies, quality systems, and standards that enable scalability, efficiency, and cost effectiveness as the company grows. In close collaboration with Project Management, Quality Engineering, and external manufacturing partners, the team ensures quality is embedded throughout every phase - from supplier components and manufacturing processes through installation and field deployment - delivering consistent, high-performing systems for our customers.

Whatyou'lldo

  • Lead the efforts and partnershipwithproduct solutionsarchitect, quality engineers, technology providers, and infrastructure functions to support concepts, high level designs, and end-to-end solutions.

  • Understand complex technical issues;communicate well with internal and external technical personnel;triage issues based on priority, impact, risk, release timing;andfacilitateresolution.

  • Develop and update Design Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) to ensure requirements are aligned withSymbotic'sgoals and all potential productfailuresmechanisms areidentifiedand mitigated.

  • Lead projects withQuality activities including PPAP, PFMEA, SPC, and process capability.

  • Lead engineering change requests (ECR) perdocumentcontrol procedures.

  • Review engineering and manufacturing tasks andinitiateanynecessary corrective actions.

  • Review new and existing system designs and make recommendations for improving or altering the systems.

  • Ensure the safe execution of all activities through the life cycle of a project, from manufacturing to implementation.

  • Assure engagement and alignment from required project constituents including outside resources such as engineering partners and contractors.

  • Ensure projects are engineered for the long-term seeking reliability and life-testing results to ensure Customer Loyalty and strong ROIC.

  • Up to25% domestic travel expected

Whatyou'llneed

  • Bachelor's degree inOperations, Manufacturing, or Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.Master'sdegree preferred.

  • Minimum of 12 years' experience in manufacturing, quality, automation development, with preference in robotics.

  • Strong technical background in automation equipment deployment.

  • Expert project management skills and experience managing complex projects.

  • Strong leadership and an innate ability to collaborate and build relationshipsiscritical.

  • Demonstratedproficiencyin managing projects across broad internal (business leadership, sales/solutions, hardware and software engineering, etc.) & external stakeholders (client leadership, general contractors, architects, subcontractors).

  • Track recordof exceeding project deliverables whileremainingon time and within budget; with a focus on mitigate risks.

  • Demonstrated ability to implement creative solutions while working under pressure.

  • Ability to define problems, collect data,establishfacts, and draw valid conclusions.

  • Superior verbal and written communication skillsand ability tocollaborate and communicate with all levels of employees and management.

  • Proficient with the MS Office.

  • Familiar with scheduling software (MS Project, Primavera) and earned value management systems.

The base range for this position in the posted location is $135,000.00 - $180,000.00 however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The compensation package includes medical, dental, vision, disability, 401K, PTO and/or other benefits.
