What is an experimentation analyst?

An Experimentation Analyst is a professional responsible for designing, implementing, and analyzing experiments—often A/B tests or controlled trials—to inform business decisions and optimize outcomes. They work closely with data, using statistical methods to determine the impact of changes to products, services, or processes. Experimentation Analysts collaborate with cross-functional teams to form hypotheses, establish test plans, and interpret results to provide actionable insights. Their work helps organizations make data-driven decisions and continuously improve their offerings.

What are some common challenges faced by experimentation analysts when designing and interpreting A/B tests?

Experimentation Analysts often encounter challenges such as ensuring statistically significant results, controlling for external variables, and avoiding biased sampling when designing and analyzing A/B tests. Interpreting results can also be complex, especially when dealing with ambiguous outcomes or when multiple experiments run simultaneously. Collaborating closely with product managers, engineers, and data scientists is critical to ensure that test designs align with business goals and that findings are actionable. Staying up to date with best practices in experimental design and data analysis helps address these challenges effectively.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an experimentation analyst, and why are they important?

To thrive as an Experimentation Analyst, you need strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of statistics, and experience with A/B testing, typically supported by a degree in a quantitative field. Proficiency with tools like SQL, Python or R, and experimentation platforms such as Optimizely or Google Optimize is commonly required. Attention to detail, critical thinking, and effective communication are valuable soft skills that help translate data insights into actionable recommendations. These skills are crucial for designing robust experiments, interpreting results accurately, and driving data-informed decisions within organizations.

Job description

Job Description

At SIXT, our People & Culture team works hard behind the scenes to keep our people operations running smoothly — and payroll is at the heart of it all. As a Payroll Analyst, you will own end-to-end payroll processing across the U.S. and Canada, drive data integrity, and deliver the reporting and insights that help our Finance and HR teams make smart decisions. You will work in a hybrid setup out of our U.S. office, collaborating closely with cross-functional partners in a fast-paced, internationally minded environment. If you are a detail-driven payroll professional who thrives on accuracy, compliance, and continuous improvement, apply now and join Team Orange.

YOUR ROLE AT SIXT

  • You execute end-to-end U.S. and Canadian payroll cycles — including regular, off-cycle, bonus, and stock runs — ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and strong internal controls
  • You prepare payroll journal entries, reconcile payroll-related GL accounts, and support month-end close activities including flux analysis and accruals
  • You build recurring and ad-hoc payroll reports covering headcount, labor cost, taxes, overtime, and KPIs, and deliver variance analysis with actionable insights to Finance and HR
  • You manage U.S. federal, state, and local tax reconciliations and remittances, and oversee Canadian statutory obligations including CPP/QPP, EI, income tax, T4/T4A slips, and ROE support
  • You ensure compliance with evolving U.S. and Canadian payroll legislation, translating regulatory changes into updated processes, system configurations, and communications
  • You contribute to payroll system testing and improvement projects, supporting integrations and new functionality across platforms such as Workday, UKG, or ADP

YOUR SKILLS MATTER

  • Experience You bring 3+ years of payroll experience with meaningful exposure to both U.S. multi-state and Canadian multi-province payroll processing, including tax reconciliations and year-end filings
  • Accounting Knowledge You have solid payroll accounting skills, including journal entries, GL reconciliations, accruals, and month-end close deliverables
  • Tools/Systems You have hands-on experience with at least one enterprise HR/Payroll platform (e.g., Workday, UKG, or ADP) and are comfortable working within ERP/GL environments such as SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite. Must have experience in ADP GlobalView
  • Analytics You are proficient in advanced Excel or Google Sheets (pivots, lookups, large datasets) and ideally have exposure to BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau
  • Education You hold a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, HR, or a related field — or bring equivalent professional experience; a Canadian PCP designation (or in progress) and/or a U.S. FPC/CPP certification are a plus
  • Soft Skills You are detail-oriented and proactive, with strong communication skills that allow you to partner effectively with HR, Accounting, and external providers in a fast-moving, compliance-driven environment

WHAT WE OFFER

  • Comprehensive Benefits Package Medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, and a 401(k) retirement plan
  • AI at your fingertips From day one, you'll have access to Claude by Anthropic and SIXTgpt, SIXT's own AI platform, to supercharge your work. We invest in every team member's AI journey: encouraging experimentation, building knowledge, and making sure you're ahead of the curve
  • Paid Time Off & Sick  Vacation, sick leave, and company holidays to support work-life balance
  • Career Growth Opportunities Exposure to high-impact projects within a growing, global organization
  • Hybrid Work Environment A flexible hybrid model, where applicable, supporting collaboration and focus: 4 days in office, 1 remote day
