Position: Experiential Education Coordinator and Instructor/Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice

Department: Office of Experiential Education and Pharmacy Practice

Campus: Fort Wayne, IN, USA

Target Hire Date: June 2026

Shape the future of pharmacy practice by guiding students from the classroom into transformative, real‑world learning experiences. The Experiential Education Coordinator and Instructor/Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice is a transformative role for a passionate pharmacy educator who is driven to make a lasting impact on students, the profession, and the communities they will serve. This full‑time, 12‑month, non‑tenure‑track faculty position offers the opportunity to bridge academic learning with real‑world pharmacy practice—guiding student pharmacists from the classroom into meaningful, practice‑ready experiences. Approximately 65–70% of this position is dedicated to experiential education while the remaining 10-15% for teaching.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead the recruitment, development, evaluation, and ongoing support of experiential education sites and preceptors for PharmD programs, including on‑campus and distance pathways.
  • Coordinate and oversee IPPE and APPE experiential placements, ensuring high‑quality, compliant, and meaningful learning experiences for student pharmacists.
  • Build strong collaborative relationships with faculty, preceptors, academic leadership, and students to support experiential education excellence.
  • Conduct site visits (virtual and in‑person) and address student or preceptor concerns related to professionalism, performance, and learning outcomes.
  • Utilize experiential education systems and technology to manage placements, assessments, documentation, and communication.
  • Teach and coordinate assigned Pharmacy Practice courses, using evidence‑based and innovative instructional approaches.
  • Participate in faculty service, mentorship, professional engagement, and scholarly activity as appropriate to the role.

What You'll Need:

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an ACPE-accredited program.
  • Licensure or eligibility for licensure as a pharmacist in the state of Indiana.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of pharmacy practice experience.
  • Experience precepting student pharmacists.
  • Valid Indiana driver’s license and ability to travel within Indiana and nationally as needed.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and administrative skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, students, and external partners.
  • Proficiency with standard office technology and software (e.g., MS Office, email, learning technologies).
