Job description

Per Diem Available for Qualified Out-of-State Candidates

We are seeking an experienced Piping Designer to support a long-term project in Tennessee. This position will support complex engineering and construction projects and requires strong experience with process piping design and Autodesk design tools.

Requirements

• U.S. Citizen required

• Clean background required

• Ability to obtain and maintain required security clearance and site access credentials

• Expert-level proficiency with AutoCAD 2D and AutoCAD Plant 3D

• Minimum 6 years of relevant piping design and drafting experience

• Vocational certification in drafting/design or equivalent combination of education and experience

Responsibilities

• Develop and review piping and process system designs using AutoCAD 2D and Plant 3D

• Generate complex 2D drawings and 3D CAD models with minimal supervision

• Create piping layouts, isometrics, equipment arrangements, and associated design documentation

• Review calculations, design models, drawings, and vendor documents for accuracy and compliance

• Prepare material takeoffs, quantity estimates, and material requisitions

• Coordinate designs with engineers, designers, and other project disciplines

• Maintain drawing files, records, and document control systems

• Support project execution while maintaining quality, schedule, and budget objectives

• Provide technical guidance to less experienced designers and drafters as needed

• Participate in design reviews and resolve technical design issues

Qualifications

• Strong experience in Process Pipe Design

• Proficiency with AutoCAD 2D and AutoCAD Plant 3D is required

• Knowledge of ASME B31.3 preferred

• Experience with Autodesk software products

• Understanding of fabrication methods, piping design standards, and drafting practices

• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and related project documents

• Strong communication and coordination skills when working with engineering teams

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications

Preferred Experience

• Government, Department of Defense, industrial, manufacturing, pharmaceutical, life sciences, or EPC project experience

• Current or previous government security clearance

• Experience leading design efforts or mentoring junior designers
