How much do expediting jobs pay per hour?

As of Jun 15, 2026, the average hourly pay for expediting in Michigan is $15.08, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $11.30 and $16.78 per hour, depending on experience, location, and employer.

What jobs pay 2000 a day?

Expediting roles typically do not pay $2000 a day; such high daily earnings are more common in specialized fields like executive consulting, high-level project management, or certain freelance consulting roles that require extensive experience and skills. These positions often involve complex negotiations, certifications, or niche expertise. Most standard expediting jobs pay hourly or salary-based wages significantly below this amount.

What company in Texas is paying truckers $14000 a week?

Expediting roles in trucking can offer high weekly earnings, but $14,000 per week is an exceptionally high figure and may involve specialized freight, overtime, or bonuses. Most trucking jobs pay significantly less, and such high earnings are typically associated with owner-operator positions or contract work rather than standard expediting roles.

What job makes $10,000 a month without a degree?

Expediting roles in industries like manufacturing, logistics, or construction can sometimes pay $10,000 or more monthly, especially for experienced professionals managing complex supply chains or large projects. Success often depends on skills, experience, and the ability to coordinate efficiently, rather than formal education alone.

What is expediting in a job context?

Expediting refers to the process of ensuring that materials, parts, or products are delivered on time and according to schedule, often within the fields of manufacturing, construction, or supply chain management. Expeditors monitor orders, communicate with vendors or suppliers, and address delays or issues to keep projects on track. Their role is crucial in minimizing downtime and ensuring that operations run smoothly and efficiently.

What is the difference between Expediting vs Purchasing Coordinator?

AspectExpeditingPurchasing Coordinator
Primary RoleEnsures timely delivery of materials and equipment by monitoring shipments and resolving delays.Coordinates procurement activities, processes purchase orders, and manages supplier relationships.
Work EnvironmentField and site visits, supplier communication, logistics management.Office-based, administrative tasks, vendor negotiations.
Required CredentialsOften requires procurement or logistics certifications, experience in supply chain.Procurement or business administration background, certifications optional.

Expediting focuses on monitoring and ensuring the timely delivery of materials, often involving logistics and supplier communication. Purchasing Coordinators handle procurement processes, including purchase orders and vendor management. While both roles support supply chain efficiency, expediting is more reactive and site-focused, whereas purchasing coordination is more administrative and process-oriented.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an Expeditor, and why are they important?

To thrive as an Expeditor, you need strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of supply chain or production processes, often supported by a high school diploma or equivalent. Familiarity with inventory management systems, production scheduling software, and ERP tools is typically required. Excellent communication, problem-solving abilities, and adaptability help expeditors coordinate efficiently between departments and address unexpected delays. These skills ensure smooth workflow, timely deliveries, and overall operational efficiency.

How do I get into expediting?

To get into expediting, candidates typically need a valid driver's license, a clean driving record, and good organizational skills. Some employers prefer prior experience in logistics or transportation, and obtaining a commercial driver's license (CDL) can be beneficial. Being able to work independently and manage time efficiently is also important in this role.

What are some common challenges faced by expeditors and how can they be addressed?

Expeditors often encounter challenges such as tight deadlines, unexpected shipment delays, and coordinating with multiple departments or vendors. To address these issues, strong organizational skills and proactive communication are essential. Building good relationships with suppliers and staying updated on order statuses can help anticipate potential problems. Additionally, using supply chain management software and maintaining detailed records can streamline processes and prevent bottlenecks.
