Material Expediter / Driver - HVAC
Position Title: Material Expediter / Driver
Department: Operations
Reports To: Warehouse Manager
Position Summary
The Material Expediter / Driver is responsible for the safe and timely delivery of HVAC materials, equipment, tools, and supplies to construction projects, service technicians, and company facilities. This position plays a key role in supporting field operations by ensuring crews have the materials they need to maintain productivity and meet project schedules.
Key Responsibilities
Delivery & Transportation
  • Safely operate company vehicles to transport HVAC materials, equipment, and tools to jobsites and service locations.
  • Load, secure, transport, and unload materials in accordance with company safety standards.
  • Plan and coordinate delivery routes to maximize efficiency and meet project needs.
  • Maintain delivery schedules and communicate any delays or issues to supervisors.

Material Expediting
  • Pick up materials from suppliers, manufacturers, and vendors.
  • Verify materials against purchase orders, packing slips, and delivery tickets.
  • Ensure accurate delivery of materials to the correct project or service technician.
  • Coordinate urgent deliveries and material transfers between jobsites.
  • Assist in tracking material shortages, backorders, and special-order items.

Warehouse Support
  • Receive and inspect incoming shipments for accuracy and damage.
  • Organize and maintain warehouse inventory and storage areas.
  • Assist with inventory counts and stock replenishment.
  • Prepare materials and equipment for upcoming projects and service calls.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of warehouse and yard areas.

Vehicle & Safety Responsibilities
  • Conduct daily vehicle inspections and report maintenance needs.
  • Maintain a clean and professional company vehicle.
  • Follow all DOT requirements, company safety policies, and traffic laws.
  • Utilize proper lifting techniques and material handling practices.
  • Wear required PPE and maintain a safe working environment.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous experience in delivery, warehouse, construction, or HVAC industry preferred.
  • Knowledge of HVAC materials and equipment is a plus.
  • Valid California Driver's License with a clean driving record.
  • Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Dependable, punctual, and customer-service oriented.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 75 pounds.
  • Ability to frequently load and unload materials from trucks.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, and perform physical labor throughout the workday.
