Overview / Responsibilities

Come join Wood as a Financial Analyst in Houston, Texas. This is a contract position working within a Wood Client office. This position will apply solid accounting, finance and/or tax knowledge, strong analytical, teamwork and communication skills, to assist in the delivery of efficient, cost effective and compliant tax services. The position deals with highly sensitive employee information and requires strict adherence to Client's Data Privacy and Information Protection policies and procedures.Wood offers health benefits, 401k, vacation and more.

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

  • Monitor equity and CIP activities and resolve system and data issues timely.
  • Understand the automated mobile employee taxation process, including data elements and data flow between systems
  • Monitor daily activities and resolve issues timely
  • Support annual vesting event, CIP payout and FICA tax obligations for standard RSU awards
  • Assist in the delivery of compliant tax withholding, remittance and reporting in multiple tax jurisdictions as applicable to equity and other compensation paid to globally mobile employees and retirees.
  • Communicate with business units monthly to confirm trailing taxes are reported and remitted to local taxing authorities
  • Analyze global filing requirements and authorize tax return preparation services
  • Manage compensation queries from Client's tax preparation vendor
  • Respond to management's and executives' questions regarding mobility policies, regulations, reporting and withholding requirements of specific equity transactions.
  • Monitor group mailbox and answer inquiries from employees, retirees, and business partners.
  • Partner with Client's Executive Compensation, Expat Tax Services, Treasury, Finance, Tax, Payroll, and HR departments to effect accurate and timely transaction processing.
  • Understand roles and responsibilities of various business partners in the overall mobile employee taxation process
  • Analyze tax positions for existing or new locations and/or new equity award types and design test scenarios to validate tax calculations.
  • Understand country tax positions by award types
  • Understand Client's mobility pattern and the associated data elements
  • Analyze existing data using excel to find fact patterns appropriate for test scenarios
  • Design test scenarios and prepare relevant data files for testingValidate tax calculations to ensure alignment with tax position
  • Support the relationship with Client's third-party software vendor to ensure that the calculation tool is updated and configured in accordance with Client's business positions within each country.
  • Participate in Finance and HR projects, including the deployment of new technology systems (e.g., SAP and/orWorkday).
Skills / Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

Education:

  • 8-10 years of experience in Accounting, Finance, Taxation or Data Analytics
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Master's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation or MBA preferred

Analytical Skills:

- Ability to analyze data and provide insightful analysis that illustrates key cause and eff ect, business and value drivers.

- Ability to utilize systems and data to investigate imbalances, identify root cause and propose resolutions.

- Demonstrated abilities manipulating data with Excel, PowerBI or other tools.  - Strong attention to detail is imperative.

Critical Thinking:- Ability to synthesize complex topics and present them to the audience at the appropriate level.

- Demonstrated ability tointerpret and apply concepts and controls to business transactions.

Communication:- Effectively expresses thoughts and ideas verbally and in written communications.

- Ability to present detailed or complexinformation in a clear and concise manner, with a variety of audiences including management and Client business partners in a manner that is easily understood.

Leadership / Teamwork: - Ability to influence and motivate others and work collaboratively with other functional groups.

- Works cooperatively in ateam environment in implementing business objectives and in building commitment to achieve results.
