Job Description

Clinical Support: Provide high-level chairside assistance during examinations and complex dental procedures (Expanded Duties).
Patient Preparation: Greet patients, gather health backgrounds, and prepare treatment areas with necessary instruments and materials.
Imaging & Impressions: Take digital dental X-rays and prepare materials for crowns or dental impressions.
Sanitation: Follow strict aseptic and sterilization techniques to disinfect instruments and exam rooms between patients.
Patient Education: Counsel patients on proper oral hygiene habits and post-operative care.
Administrative Assistance: Manage patient records, handle phone inquiries, and assist with clerical tasks to optimize practice operations.
Inventory Management: Monitor supplies, restock treatment areas, and assist in maintaining inventory levels.

Salary Range

Full-time $15 - $27 per hour

Requirements

Certification: Valid Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) or Expanded Duties Dental Assistant (EDDA) certification.
Licensing: Current X-ray/Radiology certification.
Life Safety: Valid BLS and CPR certifications.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in dental sterilization procedures and 4-handed dentistry.
Experience: Minimum of 1 year of dental assisting experience.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong attention to detail.

Preferences

Completion of a Dental Assisting program from an accredited vocational or trade school.
Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) status.
