Exhibition Hub information

What is an exhibition hub?

Exhibition hubs are physical or virtual spaces designed to host and showcase exhibitions, events, or displays for the public or specific audiences. They serve as central locations where artists, organizations, or companies can present their work, products, or concepts. Exhibition hubs often provide facilities such as galleries, meeting spaces, and event services to support networking, learning, and collaboration among participants and visitors.

What does an exhibition hub manager do?

A typical workday in an Exhibition Hub role involves coordinating with vendors, artists, and logistics teams to ensure exhibits are set up according to schedule. Team members often oversee installation, troubleshoot technical issues, and provide support to exhibitors and visitors. Collaboration with marketing, event planning, and customer service departments is common to ensure a seamless visitor experience. The work environment is dynamic and fast-paced, especially before and during major exhibitions.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an exhibition hub manager?

To thrive as an Exhibition Hub Manager, you need strong organizational, project management, and event coordination skills, typically supported by a degree in event management, marketing, or a related field. Familiarity with event management software, CRM systems, and digital ticketing platforms is often required. Excellent interpersonal communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities help build relationships with exhibitors, vendors, and visitors. These skills ensure seamless event execution, positive attendee experiences, and the successful achievement of exhibition goals.

Job description

The role:

A General Manager at Bubble Planet will learn Exhibition Hub procedures and standards before building a team to deliver a top-quality experience to each and every guest.

As the locations team lead and the main contact between your location and the rest of the Exhibition Hub world, you will ensure that your team is trained to work cohesively setting up, delivering and closing down the Bubble experience throughout a 6 to 12 month term depending on length of lease of location.

  • Location: Boston, Massachusetts, United States
  • Working pattern: Full-time, including evenings and weekends as required
  • Operating hours: Rotating schedules covering approximately 8:00am–11:00pm, Monday–Sunday

Experience Required

Ideally, you will have 2+ years' demonstrable experience in the following areas:

  • Managing a fast-paced leisure, hospitality, visitor attraction or entertainment venue
  • Leading, motivating and managing an operational team
  • Managing a venue or attraction with significant child and family attendance
  • Delivering consistently high standards of guest experience and customer service
  • Managing day-to-day venue operations, including health & safety and risk management
  • Working with budgets and taking financial responsibility for venue performance

Personal Qualities

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has a proven history of training, coaching and developing teams
  • Leads from the front and is comfortable taking a hands-on approach
  • Remains calm, organized and solutions-focused in a busy environment
  • Has excellent communication and people-management skills
  • Is confident making decisions and taking ownership of issues
  • Is passionate about delivering memorable guest experiences
  • Is commercially aware and comfortable balancing guest experience with operational requirements
  • Is adaptable and willing to support different areas of the venue when required
  • Has a positive, professional approach and can confidently represent Exhibition Hub and the venue

We're looking for a General Manager who shares our enthusiasm for creating memorable experiences and can lead the venue and its team to deliver the highest standards every day.
