About the Organization

Our client is a premier engineering and surveying organization dedicated to executing complex private land development and public works projects. The organization fosters a high-performance, collaborative environment focused on absolute precision, strict compliance with California surveying standards, and seamless client delivery across public and private sectors.

ย Role Overview

This is a senior-level technical leadership position focused on managing surveying and construction staking projects from initial proposal through final delivery. Working directly on-site in Riverside, CA, you will manage client relationships, oversee survey workloads, process agency submittals, and ensure all field and office operations achieve operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project & Budget Management:ย Manage project schedules, operational budgets, resource allocation, contract hours, and scope management to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Technical Quality & Review:ย Prepare and review detailed CAD drawings including Boundary, Topographic, ALTA/NSPS, Land Title, As-Built, and Subdivision Maps.
  • Agency Compliance:ย Process project submittals with city, county, and regulatory agencies. Coordinate construction bid documents and contract administration.
  • Analysis & Calculations:ย Perform rigorous boundary analysis, closure calculations, legal descriptions, exhibit preparation, and support construction staking calculations.
  • Client & Stakeholder Communication:ย Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, consultants, and public agencies to streamline project execution.

Required Qualifications

  • Education & Licensing: Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) certification is strictly required.
  • Core Experience:ย Minimum five (5) years of progressive surveying and mapping experience, preferably supporting private land development and public works projects.
  • Leadership Depth:ย Minimum three (3) years of direct management or supervisory experience overseeing survey staff and field crews.
  • Domain Knowledge:ย Strong understanding of California surveying regulations, municipal standards, agency procedures, construction sequencing, and site constraints.
  • Estimating Skills:ย Proven experience preparing structural construction staking calculations and detailed construction cost estimates.

Technical Skills & Tools

  • Core Platforms:ย AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Preferred Software:ย Carlson Software knowledge is highly desirable.
