Overview

Ansible Government Solutions, LLC (Ansible) is seeking a full-time Health Educator to work in support of Sandia National Laboratories located at 1515 Eubank Blvd SE, Albuquerque, NM 87123. The selected candidate will work with Sandia employees to improve their health and must have knowledge and skills to work with clients who present a wide range of medical conditions. The candidate will be trained in Electronic Health Record use to document patient visits. The candidate must also be able to work in a corporate wellness setting and be able to teach research-based educational seminars, design and implement group exercise classes, and lead and manage programs for the Preventive Health Team onsite. If you accept employment with Ansible, you must also acknowledge that any assigned schedule is subject to change at the direction of either Ansible or its customers.

Schedule: 40 hours/week:

  • Mondays 8am-4:00pm
  • Tuesdays 8am-4:30pm
  • Wednesdays 10:30am-7pm
  • Thursdays 10:30am-7pm
  • Fridays 8am-5pm

Subject to change at the discretion of the Sandia National Labs Preventive Health Team.
Responsibilities

  • Provide fitness and other health assessments (depending on applicant’s expertise) for individual members of the Sandia workforce.
  • Complete onsite training to obtain instructor certification to teach American Heart Association CPR/First Aid classes to members of the workforce.
  • Take measurements of aerobic capacity, body composition, flexibility, muscular strength and endurance.
  • Assist and support the development of Preventive Health Team and Occupational Medicine Fitness programs.
  • Develop and teach health education seminars to members of the workforce.
  • Staff the Corporate Fitness Facility.
  • Conduct exercise prescription consultations and Occupational Medicine Fitness Assessments
  • Must be able to design and lead weekly group exercise classes for members of the workforce.
  • Assist in administering tailored organizational fitness, nutrition, or other health programs and initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Master’s Degree preferred) in Exercise Science, Nutrition Science, or other Allied Health-related field
  • Certified through ACSM, NSCA, ACE, AFAA and/or NASM
  • More than 5 years of experience in a corporate wellness program, fitness or nutrition center setting
  • English language proficiency
  • This position requires U.S. Citizenship for DOE contract security clearance.

All candidates must be able to:

  • Sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders during the work shift
  • Lift up to 50 lbs from floor to waist
  • Lift up to 20 lbs
  • Carry up to 40 lbs a reasonable distance
  • Push/pull with 30 lbs of force
