Description - What You'll Do
- Conduct both routine and specialized clinical laboratory tests-including chemistry, hematology, immunology, and beyond-following established procedures.
- Interpret results for precision, identify and resolve discrepancies, and carry out maintenance and calibration on lab equipment.
- Aid in specimen collection and prepare samples for analysis, ensuring quality results.
- Document processes in detail, mentor new colleagues or interns, and help to uphold laboratory quality standards.
- Ensure a tidy, safe workspace and meet all regulatory and accreditation protocols.
- A Bachelor's degree in Clinical or Medical Laboratory Science, or a similar allied health degree along with preparation for ASCP/AMT certification.
- ASCP or AMT Board of Certification in Clinical Laboratory Science (CLS) to be obtained within the first year of employment.
- Maintain active certification for the duration of employment.
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities to foster collaboration within healthcare teams.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment and problem-solve, especially in high-pressure environments.
- Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail, particularly regarding quality control and reporting.
