Salary Range $41,753 - $52,191. Final compensation is based on factors such as the skills, qualifications, and experience.

Essential Responsibilities

• Foster a positive, inclusive team culture grounded in open communication and YMCA values.
• Hire, train, coach, support, and motivate assigned staff teams.
• Oversee daily operations of assigned program areas, including scheduling, staffing, and coverage.
• Support the Physical Director in achieving departmental goals, monitoring performance, and completing daily operational tasks.
• Lead assigned teams to meet or exceed revenue, participation, and service goals.
• Assist with managing expenses and assigned budget areas.
• Communicate and implement operational policies, procedures, and updates and ensure staff compliance.
• Ensure consistent delivery of high-quality, member-focused programs through evaluation, innovation, and staff development.
• Identify training needs and provide ongoing coaching and development.
• Gather and respond to member and staff feedback and resolve concerns in a timely, professional manner.
• Maintain assigned direct service hours and provide coverage as needed.
• Attend and actively participate in required trainings and meetings.
• Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Physical Director.

Minimum Qualifications

• Current CPR/AED and First Aid Certification from an approved provider (ASHI or Ellis & Associates).
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills and ability to serve a diverse community.
• Minimum of three years of experience as a personal trainer or certified group exercise instructor.
• NCCA-accredited personal training certification (e.g., ACE, ACSM, NASM, ISSA), nationally recognized group exercise certification or multiple specialty group exercise certifications.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends

Preferred Qualifications

• Multilingual skills.
• Experience supervising staff or volunteers.
• Bachelor’s degree in Fitness Management, Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, Health/Physical Education, or related field.
• YMCA Team Leadership, Multi-Team/Branch Leader certification, or equivalent leadership training
