Job description

Mercury Systems is seeking the best and brightest talent to help us bring cutting edge technology to mission critical aerospace and defense applications, advancing innovation where it matters most.

The Principal RF Engineer will be responsible forleading the design and development of highly integrated RF, microwave, and mmwave subassemblies and systems for highreliability defense environments. You will drive requirements, architecture, analysis, design, test, and transition to production for complex RF electronic hardware while collaborating across engineering, operations, supply chain, and quality teams. As a technical leader, you will influence programs, proposals, and product roadmaps, ensuring our RF solutions perform under the most demanding conditions and directly support national security

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead detailed design and development of RF circuits, modules, and subsystems
  • Provide technical inputs for program plans, proposals, and bid activities
  • Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues related to RF product design, manufacturing, and test.
  • Execute detailed circuit design, schematic capture, PCB layout oversight, and engineering package release into production
  • Serve as the technical lead for development programs, ensuring effective collaboration and communication across engineering disciplines
  • Develop functional specifications and coordinate firmware/software requirements necessary to support RF modules
  • Lead customerfacing meetings, design reviews, and technical program discussions, while contributing to longterm product roadmaps

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or physics
  • Typically requires a minimum of 6 years of experience in high reliability, aerospace, or defense electronics product development and manufacturing
  • Experience designing and testing RF IMAs and CCAs
  • Demonstrated technical leadership experience in RF product development
  • Extensive experience testing and troubleshooting RF/microwave, analog, digital, and mixedsignal circuits
  • Expertise operating RF/microwave test equipment and RF simulation tools such as Microwave Office, ADS, or HFSS
  • Experience transitioning new RF hardware designs into manufacturing and supporting integration and test activities
  • Active security clearance required on day one. Security clearances may only be granted to U.S. citizens

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in electrical engineering or physics
  • Experience with RF system simulation, distributed and lumped element filter design, and microwave/ mixed signal circuit design
  • Experience supporting failure analysis and RootCause Corrective Action (RCCA) activities
  • Familiarity with rugged aerospace/defense product development processes
