Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Therapist to join our team at Sierra Mental Health Therapy. This full-time remote position offers an opportunity to provide essential mental health services to diverse individuals seeking support. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in recovery-oriented services, family systems, and evidence-based practices, enabling them to make a significant impact on the lives of patients struggling with various mental health challenges.

About the Organization

Sierra Mental Health Therapy is committed to providing high-quality mental health services to the community of Torrance, California, and beyond. Operating within a community health clinic setting, we prioritize accessibility and holistic care while fostering a supportive environment for both our patients and staff. Our team of professionals collaborates seamlessly to deliver comprehensive mental health solutions that promote recovery and enhance overall well-being.

Work Environment

This position offers a fully remote work setting, allowing therapists to deliver care from the comfort of their own homes while still being an integral part of a close-knit team. Despite the remote nature of the position, our therapists are encouraged to engage actively with one another and participate in regular virtual team meetings, training sessions, and collaborative case discussions, ensuring continuous professional development and team cohesion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conducting comprehensive psychosocial assessments to evaluate patients’ mental health needs, developing accurate diagnoses, and crafting effective treatment plans tailored to individual circumstances.
  • Providing short-term counseling utilizing evidence-based modalities, specifically designed for patients facing challenges such as depression, anxiety, trauma, grief and loss, addiction, domestic violence, and other significant psychosocial stressors.
  • Offering supportive case management to patients involved in treatment, guiding them through resources and ensuring continuity of care during their healing processes.
  • Collaborating with team members to respond to crisis situations, applying de-escalation techniques, assessing immediate needs, and coordinating with the public mental health crisis response team as necessary.
  • Engaging in follow-up assessments post-crisis, collaborating with outside agencies as required to ensure a comprehensive approach to patient care.
  • Maintaining clear and accurate documentation of all patient interactions and treatment plans to comply with organizational standards and regulatory requirements.
Patient Population / Client Focus

As a Mental Health Therapist at Sierra Mental Health Therapy, you will work with a diverse patient population that includes individuals of all ages facing a wide range of mental health issues. Our clients often come from varied backgrounds and experiences, seeking help for emotional distress, trauma recovery, and behavioral concerns. Your role will be essential in fostering a safe and supportive therapeutic environment that promotes healing and resilience.

Qualifications
  • A Master’s Degree in Behavioral Sciences, with specialization in social work, marriage and family therapy, or professional clinical counseling.
  • Current licensing in California as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC).
  • Minimum of two years of professional clinical experience providing mental health services.
  • Proficiency in conducting assessments, devising treatment plans, and delivering effective therapy to individuals, families, and groups.
  • Strong knowledge of mental health disorders and their corresponding evidence-based treatment methodologies.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation, as some roles may include in-home visits as part of patient care.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience providing therapy in a community health setting, with a solid understanding of the dynamics of family systems and community resources.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary treatment team.
  • Demonstrated skills in crisis intervention and management in both clinical and real-world environments.
Compensation and Benefits

This position offers a competitive salary in the range of USD 120,000 to 130,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition, we provide a comprehensive benefits package that includes:

  • 401(k) retirement plan with company matching.
  • Dental and health insurance options.
  • Flexible work schedule to balance personal and professional responsibilities.
  • Flexible spending accounts to help cover health-related expenses.
  • Health savings accounts (HSA) for qualified medical expenses.
  • Life insurance for peace of mind.
  • Generous paid time off policy, including vacation, sick leave, and observed holidays.
