Job Title: Senior Data Analyst


Reports To: Chief Information Officer


Works Closely With: Business Unit Data Leads, Director of Program Management, Information Technology, and external partners


Department: Information Technology

Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm / 37. 5 - hours weekly


There is some work from home flexibility that is determined by the manager. This is not a full-time remote position - required to work in the Nashville office for a minimum of two days per week and as needed.


Job Summary:

The Senior Data Analyst is responsible for transforming NASBA data into clear, actionable insights that improve decision-making, operational performance, and measurable business outcomes. This role partners closely with business unit leaders, Information Technology, and external partners to understand business questions, define analytical requirements, and deliver accurate, timely, and useful reporting and analytics products.


Working under the direction of the Chief Information Officer, the Senior Data Analyst develops and maintains dashboards, reports, data models, and analytical solutions aligned with NASBA's enterprise data and AI strategy. The role is accountable for the quality, adoption, and business value of assigned analytics and reporting, while supporting strong data governance, security, and responsible use of data.


The Senior Data Analyst also supports the effective use of NASBA's enterprise data platform, including Snowflake and Power BI, by promoting data consistency, quality, performance, and alignment with enterprise standards. The role collaborates with CGI and other vendors as needed under the strategic guidance of the Chief Information Officer.

Requirements

ย ย Key Responsibilities:

Partner with business unit leaders and stakeholders to identify business questions, define analytical needs, and translate those needs into clear reporting and analytics requirements.

Design, build, develop, and maintain dashboards, reports, scorecards, and self-service analytics solutions using Power BI and other approved tools.

Analyze data to identify trends, risks, opportunities, root causes, and performance drivers, and present findings through concise narratives, visualizations, and executive-level summaries.

Own the quality, usability, adoption, and measurable business outcomes of assigned analytics and reporting solutions.

Translate approved priorities into detailed analytical work, manage assigned work items, and deliver reporting and analytics solutions within agreed timelines.

Execute assigned analytics initiatives in partnership with the Director of Program Management, business unit data leads, and technical delivery teams.

Monitor report and dashboard utilization, performance, and stakeholder feedback, and refine solutions based on business results and changing needs.

Create and maintain documentation for business rules, metrics, data definitions, report logic, and analytical methodologies.

Support data quality by validating source data, reconciling results, identifying issues, and partnering with technical teams to resolve defects.

Build and maintain semantic models, data transformations, and reporting solutions that meet enterprise standards for consistency, scalability, and performance.

Collaborate with CGI and other vendors to ensure analytics and data solutions meet business requirements, quality expectations, security standards, and architectural guidelines.

Support data governance, privacy, security, responsible AI, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Perform other duties as needed and assigned.


Skills and Qualifications:


Strong data analysis, business intelligence, and reporting experience.

Advanced experience with Power BI, including dashboard development, data modeling, DAX, visualization design, and report performance optimization.

Working knowledge of Snowflake or a comparable enterprise cloud data platform.

Experience with SQL, data validation, data profiling, and analysis of large or complex datasets.

Understanding of data pipelines, integration concepts, data quality practices, and semantic data models.

Ability to translate business needs into practical analytical solutions and measurable outcomes.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.

Excellent stakeholder management, facilitation, presentation, and written communication skills.

Ability to explain complex data findings to nontechnical audiences.

Working knowledge of analytics, AI, and emerging data technologies.

Experience working with external vendors, consultants, or managed-service providers.

Understanding of data governance, security, privacy, and responsible AI principles.

Ability to balance multiple priorities and work effectively across business and technical teams.


Experience Requirements:


Five to eight years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, analytics, reporting, data management, or a related field is required. Demonstrated experience developing and supporting enterprise dashboards and reporting solutions is required. Experience with Power BI and enterprise data platforms such as Snowflake is strongly preferred. Experience working in vendor-supported or outsourced environments is preferred.


Education:

Bachelor's degree in data analytics, information systems, computer science, business, finance, accounting, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent combinations of education and relevant professional experience may be considered.
