Job description

About Niantic Spatial
At Niantic Spatial, we're building the future of physical AI. Powered by a proprietary database of over 30 billion posed images, our groundbreaking mapping technology unlocks a new dimension of interaction and spatial intelligence that helps both humans and machines better understand, represent, navigate, and engage with the real environment.
Our reconstruction technology captures environments with geometric accuracy and extreme detail from any standard camera, and our Visual Positioning System delivers precise positioning almost anywhere in the world. We serve customers across robotics, the public sector, and energy and industrial markets - building for the 80% of economic activity that takes place beyond our screens.
About the Role
As Business Operations Manager, Legal & Finance, you'll build the operational infrastructure that enables Legal and Finance to scale with the business. Partnering across Legal, Finance, Sales, Security, IT, Engineering, and GTM, you'll design efficient processes, implement scalable systems, and improve the operating rhythm behind contracts, procurement, compliance, and business approvals. You will report to the Head of Legal.
This is a role for someone who creates order from complexity - combining process design, program management, systems thinking, and cross-functional leadership to help the business move quickly while maintaining appropriate governance and controls.
What You'll Do
Legal & Contract Operations - Own contract intake and workflow processes from request through execution; coordinate reviews and approvals across Legal, Finance, Security, Product, Sales, and executive leadership; manage the full contract lifecycle including repository management, renewals, and reporting; develop playbooks, templates, and scalable operating procedures; and track key metrics and turnaround times to drive continuous improvement.
Procurement & Vendor Operations - Lead vendor onboarding and procurement workflows; coordinate purchasing approvals across business functions; maintain vendor records, contract renewals, insurance certificates, and compliance documentation; and partner with Finance to streamline procurement policies and reduce administrative burden.
Finance Operations - Support company-wide purchasing, spend approvals, and financial governance; maintain approval matrices and delegation of authority; coordinate budget approval workflows with Finance and business leaders; and develop operational reporting, dashboards, and performance metrics.
Compliance & Governance - Coordinate company-wide compliance initiatives and customer security requirements; organize audit readiness by collecting evidence and aligning cross-functional stakeholders; manage customer security questionnaires; and track policy reviews, certifications, and recurring compliance activities.
Business Operations & Process Excellence - Serve as primary administrator for legal operations, procurement, and workflow management systems; identify automation opportunities and implement scalable processes; design cross-functional approval workflows that balance speed with governance; and build repeatable processes and KPI dashboards that enable the company to scale efficiently.
What You'll Bring
• 6+ years of experience in Business Operations, Legal Operations, Finance Operations, Procurement, Program Management, or a related operational role.
• Demonstrated experience designing and implementing cross-functional business processes.
• Strong project and program management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously in a fast-moving environment.
• Exceptional organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience implementing or administering workflow automation and operational systems.
• Proven ability to influence and drive alignment across teams without direct authority.
• A proactive, systems-oriented mindset with a genuine passion for continuous improvement.
Nice to Have
• Experience in a high-growth startup or rapidly scaling technology company.
• Background supporting Legal, Finance, or Corporate Operations organizations.
• Familiarity with Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM), ERP, procurement, or financial systems.
• Experience supporting compliance programs such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, or similar audit frameworks.
• Experience working with enterprise B2B sales organizations and customer contracting processes.
In Your First Year
Within your first year, you'll have:
• Built a scalable contract intake, approval, and tracking process that improves visibility across the business.
• Reduced contract turnaround times while maintaining appropriate governance and risk management.
• Streamlined procurement and vendor onboarding, creating a more efficient experience for employees and suppliers.
• Established operational dashboards, KPIs, and service-level agreements for Legal and Finance operations.
• Coordinated company-wide compliance initiatives, including audit readiness and customer security requests.
• Implemented automation and process improvements that reduce manual work and increase operational efficiency.
• Become a trusted business partner known for helping Legal, Finance, and the broader organization operate faster, smarter, and with greater consistency.
Compensation & Benefits
The expected salary range for this role is $155,000 -$170,000 per year. Compensation also includes an annual bonus, equity, and a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision coverage, 401(k), and more.
Location & Work Model
This role is based in our San Francisco, CA office on a hybrid schedule with a minimum of 3 days per week in office.
Inclusive Application
We know the strongest candidates don't always tick every box. If you're excited about this role and believe you could do it well, we encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't match every qualification listed - you may be exactly who we're looking for.
