We are currently seeking a talented Senior Tax Accountant to join our firm. As a Senior Tax Accountant, you will provide tax compliance and consulting services to a wide variety of exempt organizations, foundations, and other tax-exempt entities. You'll collaborate with an experienced team of exempt organization tax specialists to deliver an exceptional experience to clients while developing deep technical expertise in a highly specialized area of tax practice. This role offers meaningful client interaction, opportunities for professional growth, and the chance to make a positive impact by serving organizations that strengthen our communities.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, collaborative, and eager to develop professionally. The successful candidate will join the exempt organizations tax team as a Senior Tax Accountant, based on experience, with responsibilities and client leadership opportunities commensurate with experience.

  • Prepare federal, state, and local tax returns for exempt organizations, including Forms 990, 990-T, and 990-PF.
  • Assist with tax consulting projects and planning tax engagements
  • Research federal and state tax issues affecting exempt organizations, including tax-exempt hospitals.
  • Prepare workpapers and supporting documentation in accordance with firm standards.
  • Communicate with clients to obtain information, answer questions, and resolve tax issues.
  • Respond to IRS and state tax notices
  • Manage multiple client engagements while meeting multiple deadlines.
  • Utilize tax software and technology to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Stay current on tax law developments affecting exempt organizations.
  • Manage day-to-day client communications appropriate to experience.
  • Collaborate with an experienced team dedicated exclusively to exempt organization taxation.

Positions Requirements:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in accounting.
  • CPA license or active progress toward CPA licensure preferred.
  • 2+ years of public accounting or related tax experience.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Ability to travel locally with occasional overnight travel (less than 5%).
