JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Type: Schedule B - Dual Language Dept Chair (Internal Only)

Location: Cedar Ridge Elementary

Date Available: August 17, 2026

Qualifications 


Tenured teacher (preferred) 
Proficient or Excellent cumulative rating on evaluations (at least 2 summative ratings) 
Appropriate professional certification
Master's Degree preferred






Responsibilities of Elementary Curriculum Chair

Teacher Support:

1.  Facilitate communication throughout the district regarding curriculum/content area needs and goals.

2.  Provide guidance to improve consistency in grading expectations.

3.  Coordinate content area requests for approved supplemental materials/media.

Curriculum & Assessment:

1.  Work with administration and other curriculum chairs to develop content area policies and procedures for grade level appropriate instruction.

2.  Coordination of content area curriculum/objectives.

Communication:

1.  Meet periodically with the Director of Multilingual Services 

2.  Assist with the coordination and leadership of annual institutes/workshops/staff development presentations.

3.  Assist in the development of materials for school/community information.

Leadership:

1.  Serve as communication liaison between the administration and the members of the content area.

2.  Assist with leadership of curriculum review task forces.

3.  Provide leadership in review of instructional materials.

4.  Serve as consultant/liaison for oversight of textbooks, instructional materials, strategies, and equipment.

2026-27 Schedule B Stipend
