About Barnstorm
Barnstorm is an Emmy and VES-nominated visual effects studio based in Los Angeles and operations in Vancouver, Montreal, London, Atlanta and NYC. We provide photo-realistic visual effects for a variety of episodic and select sequences in feature films. We pride ourselves in our artists' talent and dedication to producing world-class visual effects.
Who You Are
We are looking for a VFX Supervisor to join our team. The VFX Supervisor will oversee the creative and technical work of the project team making sure the creative vision of the project is brought to realization. They will work directly with the client, presenting work, finding solutions to creative challenges, and overall maintaining a positive collaborative relationship between client and Barnstorm.
What You'll Do
  • Establish the overall vision for the VFX project that best meets the client's creative and technical needs;
  • Work with the VFX Producer and Executive Producer to assist with bids;
  • Communicate the creative vision and translate the vision to objectives for the project team;
  • Collaborate with the VFX Producer to ensure that all assigned projects have a well-defined production schedule, adequate and appropriate resources, performance targets and milestones;
  • Monitor the creative process, including daily reviews of assets and shots, providing regular feedback and guidance to team members.
  • Alongside the VFX Producer, regularly review project budgets and manage resources to keep projects on time and within budget;
  • Ensure regular communication of status of projects and maintain an ongoing positive and collaborative working relationship with clients;

What You Bring
  • 8+ years of experience in visual effects
  • Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience
  • Experience working with Shotgun project management software
  • Excellent knowledge of the VFX Production process from concept to delivery
