Description

The University of Washington, Division of Cardiology, Department of Medicine is recruiting one (1) full-time general cardiologist. The position is in the full-time clinical track at the Clinical Assistant Professor, Clinical Associate Professor, or Clinical Professor level. We seek applicants who demonstrate commitment to excellence in teaching and service in a diverse and inclusive academic community. This position will hold annual appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30) and may be reappointed to subsequent annual terms. Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off.

The base salary range for this position will be $20,000-$41,667 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. Other compensation associated with this position may include an administrative salary supplement (ADS), and incentive through UW Physicians (UWP) practice plan, TPS, and/or CCO. Salary and academic appointment at University of Washington will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, and academic rank.

The position will include caring for patients in the outpatient setting at the Eastside Specialty Center and inpatient general cardiology teaching service and/or inpatient consult service at the University of Washington Medical Center (UWMC)-Montlake and/or Harborview Medical Center. Imaging opportunities will be based upon the successful candidates training and expertise, and could include echocardiography at Eastside Clinic, UWMC-Montlake, and/or Harborview Medical Center, and nuclear cardiology at UWMC-Montlake. Teaching fellows and residents will primarily occur during inpatient rotations, and may also occur in clinic or with interpretation of imaging. Additional didactic opportunities may be available. There are opportunities for those with subspecialty interests such as hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, cardio-oncology, sports cardiology, or women’s heart health. Anticipated start date will be January 1, 2027.

University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, scholarship and service.

Qualifications

Applicants must have an MD or DO degree (or foreign equivalent) and be board certified/eligible in interventional cardiology (or foreign equivalent) and must be eligible for medical licensure in state of Washington. In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-US) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
