Salary range (but not limited to):

59,300 - 72,500

Annual bonus target, based on the base salary, with a potential payout of up to double the target (subject to personal and company performance):

Salary for the candidate will be determined taking into consideration a number of factors including: experience, skills, qualifications, anticipated contribution to role, internal equity, etc. The salary range presented above is based on a 35-hour workweek and would represent a majority of different candidate profiles. However, we encourage candidates who may fall outside of this range to apply as well.


About the role

The Corporate Communications team leads Intact Financial Corporation's internal and external communications in support of IFC's business objectives and strategic roadmap. This includes:

  • Supporting and amplifying the common elements that bring us together, define our unique culture and drive outperformance.
  • Enhancing employee engagement across IFC - emphasizing what makes us a winning team.
  • Protecting and promoting the IFC brand and reputation globally.
  • Elevating IFC's role in helping to build resilient communities where we do business.
  • Amplifying IFC's knowledge, expertise and thought leadership in our key markets.

Within Corporate Communications, the Executive Communications team creates and delivers communication that raise the profile of Intact's global and Canadian CEOs and other senior executives, while sharing key aspects of Intact's strategy. The team manages executive engagements, internal and external events, employee communications, media and social media accounts.

As a Communications Advisor I, you will work in close collaboration with the Executive Communications team on a wide range of communications programs and initiatives to support Intact's Canadian and global CEOs. This is an operational role, where organization is crucial. You will be responsible for a wide range of tasks, such as assisting with events, including logistics, executing promotions plans and tracking event metrics. You will also be responsible for distributing and posting communications on our various channels, KPI tracking and creating reports to help identify opportunities to strengthen communications.


The successful candidate will report into the Manager of Executive Communications and can be based at any Intact office.


What you'll do here:

  • Work closely with our Senior Events Specialist to execute our quarterly Manager webcast and employee webcast, Connecting Coast to Coast. This involves sending invitations, supporting logistics and working with our IT team on back-end logistics.
  • Support other internal and external events including working with IT on logistics and sending invitations.
  • Track metrics for executive communications in Canada across channels such as email, intranet, video and LinkedIn, and report the results each month.
  • Collect metrics on global content from partners in the US, UK and Europe, and present the findings each month.
  • Produce quarterly reports on all global metrics and share with the greater Corporate Communications team.
  • Distribute executive communication to employees in Canada and coordinate the distribution with other Canadian brands and partners in the US, UK and Europe.
  • Manage and update our global senior executive email distribution list.
  • Monitor Corporate Communications mailbox for employee feedback, record and close employee questions when required.
  • Post from CEOs' LinkedIn accounts and monitor accounts for questions, comments, or complaints. Work with the media and customer service team if any need to be addressed.
  • Review, update and maintain Executive Communications content calendar.
  • Attend weekly editorial calendar meetings and share updates on behalf of Executive Communications.

What you bring to the table:

  • Degree in communication, marketing or journalism or related field or a combination of education and work experience.
  • 1-3 years of experience in communications, operations, or administration within a corporate or comparable environment.
  • Highly organized and process oriented.
  • Ability to work well in a high-pressure environment with tight deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail - you can spot a typo a mile away!
  • Takes initiative, is flexible and adapts easily to change.
  • Committed to delivering high standards.
  • Willingness and ability to learn new skills to support the team.
  • Highly computer literate with strong command of Zoom, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, etc.
  • Experience or interest in design an asset.
  • Experience providing back-end support to IT platforms and/or basic multimedia production an asset, with a desire to expand skills.
  • French is a strong asset.
  • For candidates located in Quebec, bilingualism is required considering the necessity to interact on a regular basis with English-speaking colleagues across the country.
  • No Canadian work experience required, but must have authorization to work in Canada.
