As a Research Scientist, you will be a key contributor in QPSโ€™ Distribution, Metabolism, Pharmacokinetics (DMPK) department. As the Principal Investigator, incumbent will fill the role of Technical Leader, and be responsible for completing portions of/entire, projects, and providing quality and timely results, as well as collaborating and communicating with Clients, QPS management, and external resources.

The Job

  • Independently understand, recognize and initiate/prepare study protocols and reports.
  • Independently perform in vitro metabolism studies using S9, microsomes, cytosol and cDNA expressed enzymes.
  • Perform cell culture and maintain cell lines, prepare cells and conduct the metabolic as well as drug transport studies.
  • Conduct enzyme induction studies using fresh/cryopreserved human hepatocytes.
  • Isolate and purify mRNA, quantify mRNA by qRT-PCR and determine the enzyme induction status.
  • Simultaneously handle lab work as well as routine projects.
  • Prepare data summaries and data interpretation.
  • Evaluate significance of data and report findings.
  • Supervise, train and/or mentor junior scientists.
  • Prepare materials for presentations and publications.

Work Location

  • This job will be 100% QPS-office/facility based

Requirements

  • The successful candidate will hold an advanced degree in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, or related scientific discipline as follows:
    • Ph.D. degree
    • Masterโ€™s degree with โ‰ฅ 6 years relevant experience
  • Understanding of experimental design and planning associated with assigned area, as well as data collection and analysis software.
  • Proven ability to successfully work in a team environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to make independent decisions.
