Our client, a global leader in biotechnology, is seeking a highly motivated "Associate Director - Project Management" to join its Antiviral Research team for Foster City, CA.

Duration: Long term contract (Possibility of further extension)

Pay Rate: $110 - 114/Hr on W2 + Medical Benefits, Paid Sick leave, 401K

We are seeking an experiencedAssociate Director, Development Project Managerto lead cross-functional drug development programs within a dynamic pharmaceutical/biotechnology environment. This role will partner closely with scientific and functional leaders to drive strategic planning, project execution, governance, and communication across complex development programs. The successful candidate will ensure projects remain on schedule, within scope, and aligned with organizational priorities while facilitating collaboration across multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead one complex or multiple cross-functional drug development project teams from early development through key milestones.
  • Partner with Project Leaders and functional representatives to drive strategic planning, project execution, and timely decision-making.
  • Co-chair project team meetings, establish agendas, document action items, and ensure effective follow-up between meetings.
  • Develop, maintain, and communicate integrated project plans, timelines, milestones, risks, and resource requirements.
  • Coordinate cross-functional activities across Research, Clinical Development, Regulatory Affairs, CMC, Manufacturing, Quality, Commercial, and other functional groups.
  • Manage project timelines and data withinPlanisware (G.Plan)or similar project management platforms.
  • Identify project risks, resource constraints, and critical path activities while developing mitigation and contingency plans.
  • Prepare high-quality project documentation, executive presentations, governance materials, and status reports.
  • Support governance committee meetings by coordinating meeting content, presentations, and follow-up actions.
  • Facilitate communication among project stakeholders, ensuring alignment on project priorities, deliverables, and strategic objectives.
  • Organize and lead sub-team meetings, working groups, and cross-functional initiatives to ensure project execution.
  • Monitor project progress, recommend corrective actions, and drive continuous process improvements.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to support portfolio planning, resource management, and strategic decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline with10+ yearsof relevant experience;OR
  • Master's degree (MS/MBA) with8+ yearsof relevant experience;OR
  • PhD, PharmD, DVM, or MD with4+ yearsof relevant experience.
  • Minimum5 years of cross-functional project management experiencewithin the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or life sciences industry.
  • Strong understanding of drug development processes, project governance, and portfolio management.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary teams in a matrix organization.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, facilitation, and leadership skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Scientific background in Biology, Chemistry, Immunology, Oncology, Pharmacology, or related life science discipline.
  • Experience supporting pharmaceutical or biotechnology product development.
  • Experience with governance committee support and executive-level communications.
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies and best practices.
  • Experience usingPlanisware (G.Plan)or similar enterprise project management software.
