Job description

Job Description Join our team as a Water Quality and Regulatory Manager. The Santa Margarita Water District (SMWD) is seeking a forward-thinking Water Quality & Regulatory Manager to shape the District's compliance strategy. SMWD prides itself on meeting and surpassing all drinking water requirements and this is an opportunity to centralize activities under a single division within the District's new Planning & Water Resources Department.

Reporting to the Director of Planning & Water Resources, this newly-created leadership role offers a rare opportunity to build a new division from the ground up-one that unifies water quality and regulatory compliance under a cohesive team that serves the entire organization. Beyond simply reacting to the regulatory landscape, the Water Quality & Regulatory Manager will anticipate regulatory change years before it arrives, cultivate trusted relationships with regulators and regional partners, and advise executive leadership on the decisions that will define the District's future. Build the division, shape the strategy, and lead regulatory excellence for one of California's most respected water agencies-apply today.
