Overview

The Director of Quality & Risk Management is a Registered Nurse (RN)

Full-Time | 8-Hour Shift | Exempt | $87,048–$115,273 annually

This position partners with executive leadership, department leaders, medical staff, and multidisciplinary teams to promote safe, high-quality patient care, mitigate organizational risk, improve clinical outcomes, and maintain continuous regulatory and accreditation readiness.

Responsibilities

The Director of Quality & Risk Management is a Registered Nurse (RN) responsible for leading quality, patient safety, risk management, and accreditation efforts across the organization.

  • Lead quality improvement, patient safety, and risk management initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with The Joint Commission (TJC), CMS, and other regulatory and accreditation requirements.
  • Maintain organizational readiness for surveys and accreditation.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor clinical and operational quality standards.
  • Drive performance improvement and accountability across departments.
  • Identify and mitigate clinical and operational risks.
  • Partner with senior leadership and multidisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes.
  • Lead staff education related to quality, safety, risk, and regulatory requirements.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, service excellence, and patient safety.
Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) required.

2. Master’s degree in nursing, Healthcare Administration, Risk Management, or a related field required.

3. State RN licensure or a License in healthcare field required.

4. Minimum of 5-7 years of clinical nursing experience, with at least 3-5 years in a quality management, risk management, or leadership role.

5. Proven experience with accreditation processes (TJC, CMS, etc.) and regulatory compliance.

6. In-depth experience with risk assessment, incident reporting, and quality improvement strategies.

7. Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with staff at all levels.

8. Expertise in quality management systems, risk management strategies, and accreditation survey processes.

9. Proficiency in data analysis, using metrics and performance tools to drive improvement.

10. Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and critical-thinking abilities.

11. Strong understanding of healthcare regulations, including CMS, HIPAA, and state-specific requirements.

12. Certified professional in healthcare quality preferred.#LI

Sherman Oaks Hospital offers competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package that provides employees the flexibility to tailor benefits according to their individual needs. Our Total Rewards package includes, but is not limited to, paid time off, a 401K retirement plan, medical, dental, and vision coverage, tuition reimbursement, and many more voluntary benefit options. Benefits may vary based on employment status, i.e. full-time, part-time, per diem or temporary. A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $87,048 to $115,273.50 on an annualized basis. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
