Overview

Are you a strategic thinker with a passion for maximizing revenue and driving financial success in the hospitality industry? Join our team as a Vice President of Revenue and take charge of our revenue optimization efforts. With your high energy and enthusiasm, you will play a key role in shaping our revenue strategy and achieving exceptional results.

The Vice President of Revenue provides enterprise-wide leadership for all revenue optimization initiatives, ensuring the resort maximizes total revenue and profitability across every business segment. For the purposes of this role, enterprise wide encompasses Grand Hotel, Bicycle Street Inn and Mackinac Island Bike Shop, including guest rooms, food and beverage, golf, spa, retail, recreation, catering, special events, and other ancillary revenue streams. 

Reporting directly to the President, this executive collaborates closely with the Steering Team to establish the resort's annual commercial strategy, develop revenue and profitability goals, and lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process. This role serves as a strategic partner across Operations, Sales, Marketing, Finance, Human Resources, and Information Technology to ensure all commercial decisions align with the resort's long-term business objectives and financial goals.

The position requires an individual who is highly effective and efficient working across locations, with ability to build strong relationships, communicate consistently, and collaborate seamlessly with on-site and remote leaders, managers and team members. 

Additional Executive Responsibilities - 

Report directly to the President and serve as a member of the Steering Team.  Lead the development of the resort's annual commercial strategy, aligning revenue, sales, marketing, distribution, operations, and financial objectives into a unified business plan.  Direct the annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning process for all revenue-generating departments in partnership with Finance, Sales and Operations Senior Leadership.  Lead the resort's Commercial Leadership Committee, bringing together leaders from Revenue, Sales, Marketing, Operations, Finance, Food & Beverage, Retail, Golf, Spa, Recreation, and other key departments to establish commercial priorities, evaluate business performance, identify new revenue opportunities and ensure alignment on strategic initiatives.  Serve as the executive leader responsible for fostering collaboration across all revenue-generating departments, ensuring that commercial decisions support both operational excellence and the resort's long-term financial objectives.  Recommend strategic investments, business initiatives, pricing strategies, and operational changes that improve long-term profitability, competitive positioning, and guest satisfaction.  Provide the President and Steering Team with comprehensive financial analysis, forecasting, market intelligence, and performance metrics to support major business decisions.  Champion enterprise-wide collaboration by building strong working relationships across every department and fostering a culture of shared accountability for revenue growth, profitability, and exceptional guest experiences.  Evaluate market opportunities, competitive positioning, emerging consumer trends, economic conditions, and technological innovations to proactively adapt commercial strategies.  Ensure revenue optimization decisions balance profitability, operational execution, guest satisfaction, and the long-term value of the Grand Hotel brand.  Provide strategic and operational oversight of the Reservation team ensuring hiring and retention of high-quality talent.  Maintain vendor relationships for key systems and proactively assess value-added technology to stay competitive within the marketplace. Qualifications:  

Qualifications

15+ years of revenue optimization experience, preferably with 5 years in hospitality industry with independent hotel/resort experience.  Bachelor's degree and MBA preferred  Understanding of hotel sales and hotel distribution sources and strategies preferred.  Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in written form with the public and within the organization.  Strong computer-based skills required, with emphasis on, but not limited to, Microsoft Office products (i.e. Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).  Experience with major Hospitality Sales systems, i.e. Delphi, Opera Cloud, ideas and Duetto.  Essential statistical and analytical skills required to identify trends, revenue opportunities or shortfalls, and interpret volumes of data from various systems and reports.  Competent organizational skills.  Ability to work independently and cross-functionally with other departments in a remote or hybrid environment to achieve goals.  Ability to thrive and excel in a multi-tasked and fast-paced environment.  Present a professional and confident appearance.  Previous supervisory/managerial experience of 10+ person team.
