Job description

Senior Account Executive
Remote - Limited to candidates residing in Colorado, Virginia, Washington, D.C., or Maryland.

Bluestaq is seeking a Senior Account Executive to help build and grow relationships with key customers across our portfolio. This role combines account ownership, opportunity development, and hands-on support for program delivery of enterprise software solutions (including UDL or custom capability components), working alongside senior account leadership on our most complex, highest-impact accounts.

You will serve as a trusted point of contact for customer stakeholders, helping drive revenue growth, customer satisfaction, and mission success through consistent, hands-on account engagement. The role blends commercial enterprise account management skills with a growing understanding of complex environments - particularly government and defense procurement processes and operational needs - while remaining adaptable to other government, defense, and enterprise customers.

This US-based position requires approximately 25% travel within the United States. The role involves building relationships, supporting on-site delivery, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to support coordinated pursuits, compliance, and account execution.

How We Work

These technical and operational tenets guide how we engage and deliver for our customers:

  • Customer-Centric First - Prioritize mission outcomes and value realization for each customer; default to collaborative, consultative approaches over transactional sales
  • Automate and Streamline Everything - Leverage tools, CRM, and workflows to enable efficient opportunity tracking, program delivery, and reporting from day one
  • Strategy Before Execution - Document account plans, evaluate competitive landscapes, and align internally before advancing pursuits or deliveries
  • Operational Excellence Through Simplicity - Support programs that are straightforward to execute, monitor, and scale with minimal friction
  • Secure and Compliant by Design - Embed security standards, data sovereignty, and compliance (tailored to customer requirements, including rules and classified handling) into every interaction and solution
  • Learn Fast, Iterate Faster - Gather rapid customer feedback, prototype concepts or expansions, and adapt quickly to evolving requirements
  • Challenge Legacy, Champion Innovation - Question traditional approaches while staying grounded in delivering measurable value to customers

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customer stakeholders across assigned accounts.
  • Support account plans and contribute to opportunity identification, expansion, and renewal efforts.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams on joint opportunity development, delivery coordination, and account support.
  • Support the account lifecycle - from relationship building and opportunity identification through contract execution and program delivery support.
  • Contribute to account plans that grow revenue potential, including upsell, cross-sell, renewals, and new capability introductions.
  • Support the shaping of requirements for expansions or new programs; help prepare technical/commercial proposals, demos, proofs-of-concept, and value propositions.
  • Support end-to-end program delivery post-agreement: help coordinate cross-functional teams (engineering, implementation, support), track scope, timelines, and risks, and escalate issues as needed.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for assigned customers; help resolve issues and identify growth opportunities.
  • Navigate customer-specific procurement processes, funding mechanisms, and security requirements, partnering with senior account leadership on export controls and compliance.
  • Represent Bluestaq at industry events, working groups, and conferences.
  • Track account health, contribute to revenue forecasting, and report on KPIs.

This role requires approximately 25% travel within the U.S., including customer meetings, opportunity shaping sessions, program reviews, industry events, and on-site delivery support.

Required Qualifications

  • 4+ years of professional experience in enterprise software sales, account management, customer success, or related roles, ideally with exposure to complex B2B/government/enterprise environments.
  • Track record supporting or growing accounts, including contributions to revenue expansion, relationship management, or delivery support in software/cloud/SaaS contexts.
  • Willingness and ability to travel approximately 25% or more within the U.S. for customer engagements, program reviews, and industry events. This includes flexibility for irregular schedules and short-notice trips as business needs dictate.
  • Growing understanding of enterprise software solutions, implementation best practices, and customer value realization.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills; comfortable engaging senior leaders (military/civilian/government/executive).
  • Active or eligible security clearance (or ability to obtain equivalent clearance).
  • US-based residency.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience selling into or supporting US DoW/Federal or similar government accounts.
  • Familiarity with DoW programs, acquisition processes, or similar regulated procurement environments.
  • Familiarity with defense software domains (e.g., C4ISR, cloud, cybersecurity); adaptable to other regulated environments.
  • Technical aptitude in cloud-native solutions, SaaS platforms, or program delivery tools.
  • Certifications such as PMP, CSM, or relevant sales/account management credentials.

Required Experience: 4+ years in enterprise account management, strategic sales, or program/client delivery roles

Required Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, International Relations, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
