Job description

Zions Bancorporation is one of the nation's premier financial services companies operating as a collection of great banks under local brands and management teams in high-growth western markets. Zions is regularly recognized by American Banker magazine as having a top banking team in its list of "The Most Powerful Women in Banking." Our customers consistently vote us as the best bank in our local markets. We value our employees, and we are committed to search out, recognize and create fulfilling opportunities for outstanding people within our organization, rewarding them for their contributions to our success. We recognize that banking is a "local" business, and that to be successful, we must have very strong ties to the communities we serve and strong relationships with our customers.

With benefits starting on day one, 12 bank holidays, profit sharing and company-matched 401(k) contributions, Zions is dedicated to being an employer of choice in our communities. At Zions, the possibilities are endless. You bring the talent; we bring the opportunity.

Enterprise Wealth Management (EWM) is a dynamic and evolving business line under the Zions Bancorporation umbrella, experiencing significant growth and innovation. EWM offers comprehensive financial services to affluent, high-net-worth individuals, families, and businesses, including personalized investment strategies, financial planning, estate and tax planning, succession planning, and risk management. The primary goal of our wealth management group is to help clients grow and preserve their wealth while providing expert guidance to navigate complex financial situations and achieve long-term objectives.

We are seeking a highly motivated Business Analyst to join our Wealth Management team. In EWM's growth-oriented environment, you will be a part of the team creating economies of scale and building the foundation for operational processes. This role is critical in driving efficiency improvements through technology adoption, automation tools, and process re-engineering. As an individual contributor focused on execution and cross-functional partnership, you will serve as a critical tactical partner and execution right-hand to the Director of Wealth Technology and Operations.

Key Responsibilities & Outcomes

  • Executive Communication & Managing Up: Operate with a high degree of autonomy, proactively keeping leadership informed through concise executive summaries. Clearly articulate project progress, forecast potential risks, and explicitly identify roadblocks where leadership intervention is required.
  • Tactical Execution & Ownership: Take full tactical ownership of well-defined initiatives and assigned projects within the Zions Wealth Technology and Operations space. Drive them from hand-off to successful implementation with minimal supervision. Perform project management leadership functions as a project manager or team member.
  • Process Improvement & Automation: Review, analyze, and evaluate business processes, procedures, and user needs to identify opportunities for improvement. Gather and document business requirements to drive process and improvement initiatives. Perform and participate in the analysis, design, and implementation of business processes following appropriate standards.
  • Data Analysis & Operational Reporting: Analyze and interpret data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for the business and clients. Produce, publish, and distribute operational reports relating to the development and performance of products and processes.
  • Testing & User Documentation: Conduct tests or test planning sessions, provide input for feasibility, prepare comprehensive user documentation, and conduct follow-up evaluations to ensure successful technology adoption.
  • Partnership & Relationship Building: Act as a liaison and representative of the Director to build strong, collaborative relationships across various departments, management, and staff. Work cross-functionally to resolve problems, remove friction, and accelerate delivery.
  • Adaptability in Ambiguity: Navigate vague and fluid operational environments effectively. Adapt execution plans on the fly to maintain momentum and add continuous value to the Zions Wealth business.
  • Applied Innovation: Act as a constant learner, evaluating emerging technologies and industry information to apply them to current operations, generating measurable ROI and real-world business value.
  • Other Duties: Perform other duties and tactical assignments as assigned by leadership to support team objectives.

Qualifications & Professional Traits

  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, technology or a related field.
  • 4 years of experience in business process analysis, gathering and documenting business requirements, or other directly related experience.
  • Highly self-motivated and driven; a natural self-starter who thrives in fluid environments and requires minimal oversight.
  • Exceptional ability to distill complex project data into actionable executive-level updates.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and lead through partnerships rather than direct authority.
  • Experience in the analysis of business processes, workflows, and process improvement recommendations.
  • Some experience with project methodology.
  • A combination of education and experience may meet requirements.

Benefits:

  • Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance - START DAY ONE!
  • Life and Disability Insurance, Paid Parental Leave and Adoption Assistance
  • Health Savings (HSA), Flexible Spending (FSA) and dependent care accounts
  • Paid Training, Paid Time Off (PTO) and 11 Paid Federal Holidays, and any applicable state holidays
  • 401(k) plan with company match, Profit Sharing, competitive compensation in line with work experience
  • Mental health benefits including coaching and therapy sessions
  • Tuition Reimbursement for qualifying employees enrolled in an accredited degree program related to the needs of the business
  • Employee Ambassador preferred banking products
