Job Title: Executive Protection Agent
Location: Based in Los Angeles, CA; residents preferred but open to travelโ€‘in or relocation.
Job type: Fullโ€‘time, with full benefits
Compensation: $145,000 minimum annual compensation
Travelโ€‘In Position: Live anywhere in the US

Job Summary

This is an unarmed Executive Protection Agent position based in Los Angeles, CA. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience supporting a single primary client on a small, tenured embedded EP team, balanced domestic and international travel, multiโ€‘agent coverage, and proven advance work skills. Applicants must demonstrate strong physical fitness, proven experience in corporate and highโ€‘profile environments, and ability to operate in fastโ€‘paced settings while maintaining professionalism and character under scrutiny.

Job Description
  • Ensure the overall safety and security of designated Principals.
  • Drive Principals to various personal/business venues and/or additional offโ€‘site assignments.
  • Proficiently use and maintain all equipment for protective operations (vehicles, medical supplies, communications devices, etc.).
  • Maintain an acceptable professional appearance.
  • Communicate with the Principalโ€™s staff, coworkers, and thirdโ€‘party vendors using a customerโ€‘service approach.
  • Adapt to tasks outside traditional security operations.
  • Interact with children as needed.
  • Execute onโ€‘theโ€‘spot critical thinking and improvisation.
  • Demonstrate strong emotional intelligence and selfโ€‘awareness.
  • Navigate social settings, employing social engineering to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Submit to preโ€‘employment, postโ€‘accident, and random drug testing as determined by management.
  • Work shifts that may include days, nights, weekends, holidays, overtime.
  • Present multiple coverage experience.
  • Travel domestically and internationally when required.
  • Provide close protection at venues, events, business meetings, personal trips, etc.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and professional conduct in all situations.
  • Conduct advance work for routes, venues, and travel trips.
  • Write detailed reports with proficient writing skills.
  • Coordinate with Principalโ€™s staff and outside personnel to facilitate seamless operations.
  • Maintain physical fitness for prolonged duty: stand for several hours, run, swim, hike, etc.
  • Engage responsibly with active threats against the Principal.
  • Use proficient defensive tactics to deescalate or actively engage threats.
Position Certificates and Licenses
  • CA BSIS Security Guard license
  • Valid United States Driverโ€™s License
  • Current Passport with at least six months validity remaining
  • CPR/First Aid/AED certification for adults, children, and infants
Preferred Education and Experience
  • Certification from a recognized EP school
  • Graduation from a certified driving school
  • Military or lawโ€‘enforcement experience
  • Training in defensive tactics, counterโ€‘surveillance, surveillance detection, and covert protection
  • Active First Responder, Paramedic, or EMT certifications
  • Regular participation in outdoor activities such as mountain biking, hiking, ocean sports, etc.
Required Skills and Experience
  • 3โ€‘5 years of relevant EP experience
  • Understanding of the latest technology: smartphones, communication/tracking apps, collaboration apps
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team and as a solo practitioner
  • Excellent communicator capable of engaging clients, superiors, peers, and vendors professionally
Physical Requirements
  • Physically able to capture and detain individuals if necessary
  • Prolonged periods sitting (5+ hours) at a desk while monitoring surveillance equipment
  • Prolonged periods standing (4โ€‘5+ hours) without a break
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and, if necessary, lift, drag, or move a human up to 200 pounds or more
  • Capacity to bend, twist, stoop, and crawl as needed
  • Ability to respond to physical attacks, natural disasters, and evacuations
Salary and Benefits
  • $145,000 minimum annual compensation
  • Work schedule: 2 weeks on/2 weeks off, 12โ€‘hour workdays
