Procurement Manager – Viega – Broomfield, CO

The Procurement Manager is responsible for leading the tactical and strategic purchasing functions at Viega LLC. The position will manage and lead purchasing staff in varying phases of purchasing; direct, indirect, and CAPEX. The Procurement Manager will oversee and lead all procurement objectives to meet corporate goals, while identifying opportunities to improve levels of service to the Viega stakeholders. All leadership activities must align with the Viega values and promote a high performing culture. Communication with the Executive Committee, Business Units, and Corporate Department influencers and users on strategy.

Responsibilities
  • Establish strong relationships with internal departmental and executive business stakeholders; build a deep understanding of strategic business direction, requirements, and priorities across assigned suppliers and/or spend categories for effective tactical purchasing execution daily.
  • Lead and support implementation of strategic initiatives with key suppliers to provide improved levels of service and streamlined efficiencies for Viega.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to tactical Buyers and Procurement Specialists with daily purchasing activities, issue resolution, and support of internal customers.
  • Develop, review and update procurement processes and systems; provide support and training to procurement team members on SAP and other support software.
  • Align with Procurements S2P process guidelines and ISO documentation.
  • Manage supplier relationships in the respective area of business and identify new supplier opportunities to improve the level of service provided to Viega.
  • Manage and support the performance of all assigned team members by conducting performance reviews, developing goals, and proactively identifying areas of improvement.
  • Responsible for the completion of annual reviews and audits of suppliers and processes in the respective area of ownership, and complete periodic reviews to validate procurement processes are compliant.
  • Develop department strategies to deliver against business objectives for internal clients and provide guidance to internal stakeholders on purchasing processes and strategies.
  • Manage fundamentals of purchasing and supplier engagement activities including purchase order creation, due date acknowledgement and supplier price confirmation.
  • Work with business and finance leaders to identify and drive savings and efficiency improvements, focusing on supplier inventory reduction and VMI.
  • Manage a team responsible for tactical and strategic procurement processes, provide leadership and guidance on developing strong trustworthy relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collect and analyze supplier performance metrics to ensure “best in class” supplier performance that aligns with Procurement and Organizational objectives.
  • Promote and coach decision making and empowerment throughout the team.
Qualifications
  • Knowledge of computer programs, including Microsoft Office, Visio, BW, LiveLink.
  • Advanced knowledge of ERP systems; SAP.
  • Expert knowledge of manufacturing and supply chain processes, matrix or strategic pricing, and supplier markets.
  • Strong negotiator with proven experience in setting negotiation strategies and conducting negotiations.
  • Extensive knowledge of the basic types of commercial agreement structures and the function and purpose of key legal terms.
  • Strong experience assessing risk and concisely explaining complex issues to principal business owners.
  • Extremely customer‑focused and takes the time to understand the needs of the business.
  • Experience working in a large, global, highly matrixed organization.
  • Strong analytical skills including the ability to quickly synthesize, distill and draw conclusions on large amounts of disparate data.
  • Ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects requiring frequent communication, organization, time management, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Extensive experience presenting at the executive level and developing business cases.
  • Passionate self‑starter with the highest integrity and ethics.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Business, Economics, or related field.
  • Masters in a business or supply chain related field and/or MBA preferred.
  • 15+ years of related source-to-pay experience in Purchasing and Strategic Sourcing.
  • Category‑specific procurement experience required.
  • In‑depth experience in best‑in‑class procurement practices (category management, benchmarking, should‑cost models, RFX, reverse auction, contracting, etc.).
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
Total Rewards Package Compensation
  • Base: $109,000 – $148,000 annually, based on specific compensable factors including, but not limited to, education, work experience, and geographic market.
  • Bonus: Eligible for participation in a discretionary annual bonus program, pursuant to which an employee may be awarded a percentage of their salary based on company performance and their own individual performance.
