Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Sr. Account Executive responsible for promoting and selling Civix software solutions to new and existing clients.


The Sr. Account Executive will focus on building a pipeline, developing relationships, and driving revenue growth in the Eastern Region of the US. This includes state-level agencies and City and County government entities to drive the adoption of our market-leading technology that provides transparency and builds public trust in state and local government.


Key Responsibilities

  • Consistently achieve and exceed sales targets.
  • Build and maintain a healthy sales pipeline for GoElect, GoRegister, GoEthics and Civix Analytics products.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive territory plan targeting state and local entities.
  • Execute cross-sell/upsell sales motions to existing Go Suite customers.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers, including Secretary of State offices, City and County Clerks, Ethics Commissions and Corporations Commissions.
  • Manage the full sales cycle — from prospecting, qualification, discovery, demo, to contract negotiation and closing.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (Marketing, Sales Engineering, Customer success, Product Management) to align Civix solutions to business outcomes for our customers.
  • Stay current on industry trends and the competitive landscape.
  • Represent the company at industry conferences, government meetings, and networking events.
  • Provide accurate sales forecasts and reporting in CRM (HubSpot).
Requirements:

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Political Science, Public Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 7+ years of field sales experience, with at least 3 years in government or public sector technology solutions.
  • Proven track record of selling software solutions to State and Local government.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to establish trust with Executive stakeholders.
  • Strategic thinker who can navigate complex political environments and procurement cycles.
  • Ability to travel as needed for client meetings and industry events.

Preferred Skills

  • Working with channel partners and resellers.
  • Experience with MEDDPICC sales methodology.
  • Experience with SaaS solutions in the Public Sector.
  • Familiarity with lobbying, campaign finance, business services, and election systems.
