Job description

The IT Systems Administrator III – Network manages focusing on network and communications infrastructure. This position is responsible for ensuring the stability, security, and efficiency of the network and communications systems. The role involves troubleshooting, network and communications design and implementation, and performance monitoring. This role also participates in other IT Enterprise Systems design, configuration, security, and troubleshooting efforts, as needed.

Network and Communications Design and Configuration:
  • Implement and maintain enterprise‑grade wired and wireless networks across multiple campuses.
  • Configure and maintain network systems, including LAN, WAN, VPN, SDWAN, MPLS and VoIP.
  • Manage cloud‑native or Software‑as‑a‑Service solutions.
  • Perform wireless controller migrations, firmware lifecycle management, and campus refresh cycles.
  • Establish standardized configurations and reference models across all campuses.
  • Ensure high availability, scalability, and redundancy of cloud‑based infrastructure.
  • Manage cloud networking configurations, including VPNs, load balancers, and cloud firewalls.
Network and Communications Maintenance and Monitoring:
  • Monitor network performance using tools, such as SolarWinds, to ensure system availability and reliability.
  • Perform regular network maintenance, including applying patches, updates, and firmware upgrades.
  • Conduct network performance tuning and capacity planning to optimize network efficiency.
Troubleshooting and Support:
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network issues, including connectivity problems and performance bottlenecks.
  • Provide support for network‑related incidents and service requests as needed.
  • Act as a Network and Communication escalation point for IT support staff.
  • Coordinate with vendors and service providers to resolve hardware and software issues.
Documentation and Compliance:
  • Maintain enterprise network diagrams (logical and physical).
  • Develop wireless standards, runbooks, and configuration templates.
  • Maintain detailed change management documentation.
  • Participate in CAB (Change Advisory Board) processes.
  • Ensure all network documentation is audit ready.
Collaboration and Communication:
  • Work closely with network, security, and application teams to ensure seamless integration of cloud services.
  • Communicate system updates, security alerts, and best practices to stakeholders.
  • Provide recommendations for cloud service adoption, optimization, and migration strategies.
Education:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field required.

Experience:
  • Minimum of 5–7 years of progressive experience in enterprise networking.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of enterprise wireless design and administration experience.
  • Experience supporting multi‑site or campus environments.
  • Proven experience with:
    • Wireless controllers and cloud‑managed wireless platforms.
    • 802.1X authentication and RADIUS.
    • High‑density wireless deployments.
    • RF planning and spectrum analysis.
    • Advanced routing (BGP/OSPF).
  • Network segmentation and security best practices.
    • Experience integrating on‑prem and cloud networking environments.
    • Experience leading infrastructure projects.
Certifications (Preferred but not Required):
  • CCNP or equivalent.
  • CWNA or CWNP.
  • Aruba Wireless or equivalent.
  • Azure or AWS Networking certifications.
  • CompTIA Security+.
  • CompTIA Cloud+.
Qualifications:
  • Fully bilingual (English and Spanish), oral and written.
  • Analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Strong ability to guide technical initiatives.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to executive leadership.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Willingness to work flexible schedule, including after‑hours and weekends.
