The Opportunity:
Culture Biosciences is seeking a Field Applications Scientist / Manager to serve as a key subject matter expert within our commercial team. This role is ideal for an experienced upstream bioprocess development professional who thrives at the intersection of technical applications, scientific collaboration, and customer service. You will be instrumental in bridging the gap between our customers, technology partners, and internal R&D and operations teams, ensuring our value proposition is aligned with customer and market needs. This position reports directly to the CEO.
What You'll Do:
  • Engage prospective and existing customers, the commercial team, and strategic collaboration partners with technical bioreactor and process expertise.
  • Lead technical support, to support process optimization further manufacturing collaboration and project scoping discussions.
  • Work with your teammates and cross functionally to build a culture of collaboration, reliability, and innovation.
  • Learn everything you can about Culture's technologies and services in order to effectively support customer engagement with our products and services.
  • Contribute to project scope and proposals highlighting Culture as a partner capable of meeting their milestones and objectives.
  • Provide technical advising for setting up processes, scale down models and integration of AI models into biomanufacturing applications.
  • Attend and participate in industry technical conferences to network with key opinion leaders, present technical papers, gather information on industry trends and drive recognition of Culture's process development platform.
  • Organize and lead key events to network with the biotech community for identifying opportunities to collaborate.
  • Develop and coordinate the technical engagement component of the sales process.
  • Collaborate with marketing to create a roadmap of technical papers and presentations that demonstrate Culture's capabilities.
  • Partner with executive team members to form strategic partnerships with bioprocessing services and tools providers.
  • Partner with the product and application teams to present white papers, and technical materials about Culture's offerings.Develop relationships with clients' technical team members as a part of the sales process and identify how Culture's offerings can support clients' programs.

Education & Experience:
  • 2+ years (5+ years for Manager-level) of Field Application experience in biotechnology tool sales, specifically in upstream bioprocessing services, equipment, and technology.
  • Project management experience with a track record of successful completion of projects.
  • Advanced knowledge of viral vector, microbial fermentation, and mammalian cell culture development
  • Experience influencing product development in a matrixed reporting environment without direct managerial control
  • You have a bachelor's or advanced degree in Chemical Engineering, Bioengineering, Chemistry, Biology, or a related field.
  • You have 8+ years (10+ years for Manager level positions) of experience working in biopharma or biotech companies in process development, process transfer or MSAT teams, AND/OR for companies that supply technical bioprocessing products and services to biopharma or biotech companies.
  • Experience working for or with CDMOs would be beneficial.
  • Engaging Brand Presenter: Passionately articulates product and service value propositions, translating key features into compelling benefits that engage audiences and drive customer adoption.
  • Ability to carry 30lbs.
  • Valid Drivers License.

Location & Schedule:
This is a remote position based ideally on the East Coast. This position will require regular travel to clients, partners throughout North America, industry events & conferences, our headquarters in South San Francisco US, and occasionally to other parts of the world.
Base Salary Range:
  • Culture Biosciences's compensation package includes market competitive salary, equity for all full time roles, and great benefits. Our expected base salary range for this role is: $110,000 to $180,000. We are hiring for multiple levels and backgrounds so final offers may vary within the range provided based on experience, expertise, and other factors.
