Job description

Pay: $85,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year

Why This Is a Great Opportunity

  • Step into a true leadership role where you will own active utility meter service projects and help build a growing division.
  • Lead meaningful water infrastructure work that supports municipalities, utilities, and critical public systems.
  • Take on a highly visible role with direct access to executive leadership and real influence over operations, team building, and growth.
  • Join a stable, established utility services company with decades of experience in water, wastewater, sewer, and stormwater field services.
  • Competitive compensation with performance-based incentive potential tied to division growth.
  • Ideal opportunity for a hands-on project manager who enjoys field operations, client communication, crew leadership, and building scalable systems.

Location

  • On-site role based in Washington, DC.
  • Regular field and client-facing work across the Mid-Atlantic region.
  • Some travel to project sites may be required.

Note

  • Candidates must have 6+ years of project management experience in water/wastewater infrastructure, utility services, or a related civil/mechanical field.
  • PMP certification is preferred but not required.

About Us

  • Well-established water infrastructure services company supporting municipalities, utility owners, engineering firms, and construction partners across key regional markets.
  • Specializes in water, wastewater, stormwater, condition assessment, routine maintenance, and meter services.
  • Growing a high-impact meter services division.
  • Confidential employer.

Job Description

  • Lead active water meter service contracts from planning through execution, closeout, and reporting.
  • Manage daily field operations, including crew deployment, production tracking, QA/QC, subcontractor coordination, and equipment utilization.
  • Serve as the primary client contact for public utility and municipal stakeholders.
  • Track schedules, budgets, labor productivity, job costs, change orders, and contract deliverables.
  • Prepare progress reports, as-built documentation, invoicing support, and client updates.
  • Develop operating procedures, production standards, QC protocols, and scalable field processes.
  • Support hiring, onboarding, training, and retention of field technicians and crews.
  • Collaborate with leadership and estimating teams on future bids, proposals, pricing, and growth opportunities.
  • Build vendor and subcontractor relationships to support expansion and surge capacity.
  • Ensure work is performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with contract and utility standards.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of project management experience in water/wastewater infrastructure, utility services, civil infrastructure, mechanical field services, or a closely related field.
  • Strong field operations experience, including crew management, production metrics, scheduling, materials, equipment, and safety.
  • Experience working with utilities, municipalities, public agencies, or infrastructure contractors preferred.
  • Experience with meter installation, meter replacement, service lines, distribution systems, or water utility projects strongly preferred.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to serve as a client-facing project lead.
  • Experience with contract administration, reporting, change orders, invoicing support, and project documentation.
  • Ability to travel as needed across regional project sites.
  • PMP certification preferred but not required.

Why You Will Love Working Here

  • Real ownership over projects, people, processes, and division growth.
  • Opportunity to support critical infrastructure that communities rely on every day.
  • Join a company with established client relationships and strong growth momentum.
  • Build and lead a growing division rather than simply maintain existing operations.
  • Work closely with senior leadership and help shape the future of the meter services practice.
