Pre-School Master Teacher – (CYW San Miguel)


* SIGN-ON BONUS: $1500 (Paid after 90 days of continuous employment)


The Opportunity: Join a preschool age (From 2 years old to Kindergarten) classroom in a growth phase! We are seeking a confident, skilled educator for Room 4 who can lead through modeling, structure, and relationship-based care.

The Master Teacher at CYW Fairwood assumes responsibility for leading the development, care, and education of children while modeling developmentally appropriate practices and adhering to agency policies. CYW is a high-quality, play-based child development program accredited through Quality Matters. Our Fairwood campus serves children from 6 weeks through 5th grade. In this role, you will help ensure a safe, nurturing environment that meets both Title 5 and Title 22 regulations while fostering strong, collaborative partnerships with families.

  • Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Compensation: $30.00 – $32.00 per hour (Based upon Experience)
  • The Role: Assumes responsibility for a team and the development and education of children. You will model developmentally appropriate curriculum and agency policies while overseeing classroom routines and meal-time clean-up.

Requirements
  • Valid “Master” Teacher Permit (Required) or Must be Master Teacher Eligible with plans to apply.
  • 24 CORE ECE units REQUIRED.
  • 1–2 years minimum experience as a Lead/Master Teacher in an early learning environment.
  • Strong instructional practice and classroom management.
  • Ability to model best practices, mentor staff, and provide consistent guidance.
  • Reliable, passionate about the ECE field, excellent customer service, knowledgeable, nurturing, a team player, and strong work ethic.
  • Must be able to start within 3 weeks with Live Scan completed (Live Scan fee reimbursed after 90 days).
  • Willing to work at any of the CYW school sites as needed.
  • Willing to work occasional overtime as needed.

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to remain in a stationary position, traverse the workspace, and position oneself at a low level (including floor level) to interact with the children we serve. The employee must be able to use hands and arms to operate equipment and reach. The ability to observe and identify details at close and far range is required. This role requires the ability to exchange accurate information with others.

Environment: Duties are performed in both indoor and outdoor settings. The noise level is usually moderate.
