Job description

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced, leadership-driven Regional Nurse Consultant (RN) to oversee, guide, and support the clinical operations of 3-4 skilled nursing facilities within the Chicago area. This regional role acts as a strategic clinical partner to our facility leadership teams, ensuring the highest standards of resident care, regulatory compliance, and clinical excellence.

Why Us?

When you join our team, you are not just taking a regional role—you are becoming a vital part of a culture that values clinical integrity, operational excellence, and professional fulfillment. We offer:

  • A Supportive Corporate Team: You will never work in a silo. Our corporate clinical, regulatory, and operational leaders provide robust, collaborative backing, reliable resources, and active partnership to help you succeed in the field.

  • Manageable Regional Footprint: With only 3-4 buildings concentrated in the Chicago market, you can focus on building meaningful relationships, implementing sustainable clinical systems, and driving quality outcomes without exhausting travel schedules.

  • Empowerment & Autonomy: We trust your expertise. You will have the independence to assess, strategize, and mentor facility Directors of Nursing (DONs) to elevate their clinical operations.

  • Commitment to Quality: We provide our buildings with the tools, technology, and clinical programs necessary to achieve top-tier CMS star ratings and deliver superior patient care.

Duties & Responsibilities:

As a Regional Nurse Consultant, you will provide clinical oversight, auditing, and strategic guidance to your assigned portfolio of skilled nursing facilities. Core duties include:

  • Clinical Oversight & Consultation: Provide regular guidance, mentoring, and support to facility Directors of Nursing and clinical leadership teams to ensure high-quality care delivery.

  • Regulatory Compliance & Quality Assurance: Monitor, audit, and evaluate clinical systems to ensure absolute compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Lead mock surveys and assist facilities with survey preparation, correction plans, and dispute resolutions.

  • Quality Metric Analytics: Review and analyze key clinical data points, including Quality Measures, MDS metrics, rehospitalization rates, and incident reports, to implement proactive clinical interventions.

  • Leadership Development: Assist in the recruitment, onboarding, training, and ongoing retention of facility DONs and clinical managers, fostering a culture of accountability and professional growth.

  • Clinical System Implementation: Standardize and implement clinical policies, risk management protocols, and specialized care programs across your assigned region.

Benefits Provided:

We believe in taking care of the people who take care of our communities. We offer a highly competitive and comprehensive rewards package:

  • Financial Rewards: Top-tier base salary commensurate with experience, plus an executive performance bonus structure.

  • Health & Wellness: Comprehensive Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance plans with multiple options to fit your needs.

  • Retirement Security: 401(k) retirement plan with an employer matching contribution.

  • Paid Time Off: Generous PTO allocation, including paid vacation, sick time, and recognized holidays.

  • Professional Allowances: Competitive mileage/travel reimbursement program and company-provided technology package (laptop and cell phone allowance).

  • Career Advancement: Continuous professional development opportunities and executive leadership pathways within a growing organization.

Qualifications:
  • Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing for the State of Illinois (Required).

  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience as a Director of Nursing (DON) in a skilled nursing facility (SNF / LTC) setting.

  • Previous experience in a regional clinical consultant or multi-facility supervisory role highly preferred.

  • Deep, expert-level knowledge of CMS regulations, Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) guidelines, and survey processes.

  • Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
