We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM) Specialist to join our production team. This position will be responsible for developing and optimizing manufacturing processes through the use of CAM software, ensuring efficient and high-quality production. This role involves working closely with design, production, and quality teams to ensure seamless integration of CAM solutions in our manufacturing operations.


CAM Programming:

  • Develop and optimize CNC programs using CAM software (e.g., TruTops Boost, V-Carve, Beamcut, MasterCam, Siemens NX, Fusion 360, SolidCam).
  • Generate set-up plans, toolpaths and machining strategies for various manufacturing processes such as plastic milling, metal laser cutting, press brake air bending, pipe bending, multi-axis plasma cutting, industrial robotic manipulator.
  • Create post-processor configurations for specific CNC machines.

Process Development:

  • Collaborate with design and engineering teams to analyze part designs and ensure manufacturability.
  • Define tooling, fixture requirements, and machining parameters for production.
  • Optimize machining processes to improve efficiency, reduce cycle times, and minimize costs.

Machine Setup and Troubleshooting:

  • Provide technical support for machine setup and operation, ensuring alignment with CAM-generated programs.
  • Troubleshoot machining issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Set up a regular scheduled maintenance program for all machines ensure we are preforming as needed
  • Establish calibration process for machines and ensure regular best practices

Quality Assurance:

  • Validate CAM programs through simulation and test runs to ensure accuracy and adherence to design specifications.
  • Support quality control efforts by analyzing and mitigating machining defects.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate records of CAM programs, tool lists, and setup sheets.
  • Generate process documentation, including step-by-step instructions for machine operators.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Stay updated on advancements in CAM software and machining technology.
  • Propose and implement process improvements to enhance productivity and quality.

  • Education: 
    • High-School Diploma/GED Required
  • Experience:
    • 8+ years of experience with a High-School Diploma/GED OR 6+ years of experience with an Associate's Degree OR 2+ years with a Bachelor's Degree
    • Familiarity with various machining techniques, materials, and cutting tools.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in CAM software and CNC programming.
    • Understanding of NC-code and CNC controller interfaces.
    • Knowledge of manufacturing processes like laser cutting, welding, pipe bending, milling, sheet metal bending.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
    • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
    • Attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with multi-axis CNC beam cutting.
  • Exposure to Trumph machining ecosystem
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles or Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Familiarity with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
  • Understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).

Abilities:

  • Exposure to computer screens for an extended period of time.
