Job Summary:
City National Bank is a subsidiary of Royal Bank of Canada, founded in 1954, focusing on providing exceptional client relationships and community support. The Data Analytics Manager will lead a team to deliver strategic insights and reporting solutions for Consumer Banking and Small Business products, driving data-informed decision-making for senior leaders. Key responsibilities include overseeing product analytics, managing client segmentation, and creating executive dashboards to support business strategy and performance.
Responsibilities:
• Lead analytical initiatives for consumer and small business products including loans and deposits
• Develop insights on product performance, KPIs, and customer behaviors
• Support product optimization and cross-sell opportunities
• Oversee analytics for partner-managed products including wealth management, treasury management, and credit cards
• Collaborate with wealth management, treasury management and other internal bank partners to align analytics standards and methodologies
• Provide insights to support partner product performance
• Support the remediation of critical issues and provide recommendations to improve efficiency
• Collaborate with the Product team to design and perform scenario analysis for client segmentation models
• Conduct detailed client analytics to identify and segment customer cohorts to align services with client value
• Support the rollout of marketing and sales strategies including the development of business cases, implementation plan and reporting campaign performance
• Manage sales pipeline reporting and provide insights on product and colleague performance
• Create executive-level dashboards and reports for senior sales leaders and partners
• Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and accessibility across reporting solutions
• Maintain and update reporting infrastructure to meet evolving business needs
• Manage, mentor, and develop a team of analytics professionals
• Establish performance expectations and provide regular feedback

• Complies fully with all Bank Operational and Credit policies and procedures as well as all regulatory requirements (e.g. Bank Secrecy Act, Know Your Client, Community Reinvestment Act, Fair Lending Practices, Code of Conduct, etc.)
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
• 7+ years of professional experience in data analytics
• 5+ years of experience working within the banking industry
• 2+ years of experience leading a team
Preferred:
• Strong quantitative and analytical skills
• Advanced proficiency with SQL and data querying
• Strong experience with BI/analytics tools (e.g. Tableau, Power BI)
• Knowledge of Alteryx, Snowflake and Tableau
• Leadership and relationship-building skills required to work with sales leadership, senior management, sales colleagues and subject matter experts
• Ability to develop and deliver clear, concise, senior management-level presentations
• Comfortable working in a deadline driven environment while maintaining accuracy and excellence in output
• Strategic thinking and planning skills coupled with ability to execute projects with diligence and urgency
• Comfortable working with ambiguity; able to take initiative to identify and solve problems, develop innovative solutions, and design new processes with minimal direction
