The Gist...

The UI/UX Engineer is responsible for designing and developing intuitive, accessible, and user-centered digital experiences for enterprise applications. The individual combines user experience research, interaction design, visual design, accessibility compliance, and front-end development expertise to create solutions that improve usability, efficiency, and user satisfaction.

What Your Day Might Include...
  • Design user interfaces and user experiences that support business objectives and improve user engagement.
  • Conduct user research, usability testing, stakeholder interviews, and workflow analysis to understand user needs and behaviors.
  • Develop wireframes, prototypes, mockups, journey maps, and interactive designs that communicate solution concepts and functionality.
  • Collaborate with Business Analysts, Product Owners, architects, developers, and stakeholders to translate requirements into effective user experiences.
  • Develop accessible and responsive interfaces that comply with federal accessibility standards and best practices.
  • Conduct usability assessments and analyze user feedback to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Support design system development, component standardization, and user experience governance initiatives.
  • Participate in Agile planning, sprint reviews, and product demonstrations.
  • Collaborate with development teams to ensure design fidelity and successful implementation of user interface requirements
  • Support continuous improvement of enterprise applications through research-driven design recommendations
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Computer Interaction, Design, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
  • Experience designing and developing modern user interfaces utilizing ReactJS, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and responsive design principles.
  • Experience utilizing design, wireframing, prototyping, and collaboration tools to develop user-centered solutions.
  • Experience conducting usability testing, user research, stakeholder interviews, workflow analysis, and user journey mapping.
  • Experience supporting accessibility compliance and inclusive design practices, including Section 508 requirements and testing utilizing ANDI and Color Contrast Analyzer.
  • Experience collaborating with Agile development teams utilizing Jira, Confluence, Mural, GitHub Enterprise, and modern software delivery practices.
  • Experience translating business requirements, user stories, and technical requirements into intuitive user experiences.
  • Knowledge of design systems, interaction design principles, visual design standards, and usability best practices.
  • Strong communication, facilitation, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Experience supporting enterprise web applications, cloud-based solutions, and digital transformation initiatives.
