Job description


We are looking for a motivated Senior User Experience Designer to help create and deliver market-leading digital products for the energy industry. This role requires extensive collaboration with Design, Engineering and Product Management colleagues to explore, produce and validate software solutions for our global customer base. Conducting and utilizing ongoing research, the qualified designer will develop appropriate design system infrastructure, information architecture, workflows, screens and interface components suitable for various user roles and customer needs.
Responsibilities:
  • Propose, plan and conduct user experience research with internal and external participants.
  • Use qualitative and quantitative data to inform user experience strategy and design decisions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver engaging, intuitive and effective user experiences, while working in an Agile SCRUM production environment.
  • Produce assets and deliverables needed to support digital product design, including specifications, information architecture, user flows, personas, wireframes, concepts or prototypes.
  • Conduct heuristic evaluations of existing products to identify areas for improvement.
  • Clearly communicate design decisions to diverse audiences, including internal subject-matter experts, cross-functional team members, and organization leadership as needed.
  • Propose improvements in process, tools and techniques to ensure design-development efficiency and on-time delivery of scheduled work.
  • Model and support company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity.
  • Uphold standards and best practices of culturally inclusive, accessible, user-centered design.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Required
Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or related field-or equivalent practical experience
Preferred
Proven ability to drive design direction across a product or platform.
Experience building and maintaining design system infrastructure, including token export, documentation and support.
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:
Required
7+ years' experience in product design for complex, web-based SaaS platforms, or enterprise B2B applications with sophisticated workflows.
Advanced proficiency in Figma or other design/prototyping software.
Strong understanding of information hierarchy, interaction design, and scalable design systems.
Ability to synthesize user research findings into clear workflows.
Design portfolio demonstrating:
o Data visualization for situational awareness, not charting
o Complex UX problem solving
o Systems-level design thinking
o High-fidelity UI execution
Experience collaborating with software engineers in Agile environments.
Ability to translate technical engineering concepts into intuitive interfaces.
Degree in art, design or related field from an accredited university
Preferred
5+ years' experience in oil & gas, energy, industrial technology, or other heavy engineering sectors.
Familiarity with drilling, completions, intervention, or performance analytics environments.
Strong understanding of data visualization principles and best practices.
Familiarity with user research techniques, including customer interviews, heuristic evaluations and usability testing.
Working knowledge of frontend technologies (HTML/CSS/React) to support effective developer collaboration.
