POSITION OVERVIEW: As a Graduate Engineer at LJA Rail, you will be responsible for perform a variety of routine tasks, which provide familiarity with the programs, staff, and operating procedures of the company
A TYPICAL DAY MIGHT INCLUDE:
  • Design of horizontal and vertical alignments for rail tracks
  • Design of drainage systems to support rail projects
  • Develop plan set suitable for construction
  • Obtains project information from other LJA personnel as directed.
  • Uses templates to prepare draft memos and reports for an experienced engineer to use for re-write
  • Receive regular training to learn the design of freight rail projects
  • Potential for field construction management and inspection activities
  • Other duties as assigned

REQUIRED EDUCATION/LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor of Science, Civil Engineering is required
  • Eligible to take the PE Exam within the next 3 years

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to build strong relationships
  • Rail Experience a plus
  • Microstation
